I'll guess that Dawn will learn some devastating or shocking information about the health of one of the patients. She won't be able to shut up about it, and she'll blab to Mary.
Or there will be some question about the competence or ethics of one of the doctors. (Or have they done this plot already?)
Anyway, my bet is that Dawn will stick her nose where it doesn't belong.
BTW, evidently there will be no arms-outstretched, slow-motion running toward each other as Toby and Ian race to embrace each other after their week-long separation. So we can be thankful for that.
What will happen is that Dawn will meet a young doctor and we will have another totally lame (and inevitably doomed) romance. This is Dawn Weston, after all. On the bright side, if it works out, and Dawn marries her young doctor, they will disappear forever.
Random thoughts: --'From Here to Eternity': the story of Mary and Toby's trip from Charterstone to a Cruise --there's a typo in the panel Wanders posted. It should read "at Medical Group", not "at a Medical Group." --If we get to visit Medical Group, we may get a guest appearance from my favorite character, anyone hooked up to the Hi-Fi. Sorry Chin Napkin, you're #2 in my book.
Poor Dawn. I suspect she is now the victim of one of those state programs that cuts your funds to attend college unless you graduate within four years of enrolling. Or maybe Karen Moy is trying to show how with it she is in understanding college debt. Or maybe Dawn just wants a new purple outfit to start school in....
Instead of asking how Wilbur is, shouldn't Mary be asking where he is? Wasn't he gazing at the Antarctic sky the last time we saw him? I still think Esme would be an ideal subject for Wilbur's survivors' reporting. A jealous Iris could be a bonus.
Say, maybe Dawn's job is in the office of Tommy Beedie's drug counselor, Dr. What's His Name. Just think of the devastation the clueless Dawn could cause there!
I'm guessing Medical Group's application for employment must have included these questions: Are you claustrophobic as in do you have a problem working within a very small cage outfitted with cedar shavings and a water tube? Are you fit enough to spend your day running inside a stainless steel wheel? Do you wear makeup and if so are you willing to test out new products? Is there anyone who will notice or care about your disappearance or was your only living relative last seen on that Delaware-sized piece of ice that recently broke off in Antarctica?
Dawn is "adulting"? it looks like she just spent the night "working" underneath the west side highway! And I love the fact that she doesn't give a hoot where her father is!
"Adulting"? Is this a term Dawn picked up from Harlan Jones?
Yes, Mary, Dawn's dressed for the part, but only if the part involves making people's eyes hurt. Those clashing colors - ouch!
Who's paying the grocery, utility, etc. bills in Wilbur's absence? Is this story going to be about Clueless Dawn or her missing father? He could be stranded on that ice shelf that recently broke off while Dopey Daughter tee-hees with Mary.
The Planet? Adulting? Is this KM's effort to try to create a word that makes it into the dictionary? Here's two for you: 'Plotting' (as in creating an interesting, non plodding plot) and 'Doppel-meddler' (a person who meddles so much that you mistake him/her for Mary Worth).
Getting out of the scalding cruise sun and returning to Charterstone seems to be treating Mary well---she seems to be reverse aging the last few days, looking better than she has in years. No more of the heavy cruise wrinkles that left her in the coffin bed.
FRIDAY-- Um, Dawn, your dad hasn't been in contact because he was arrested in Thailand. You probably should be sitting down when the US consulate official calls to give you the details.
Don't be shy! I'd love to hear what you have to say about Mary Worth. Just keep it clean, that's all I ask. This is a FAMILY FRIENDLY blog. I don't want to moderate comments, but I will if I have to.
ReplyDeleteOkay, so why are we going in this direction?

ReplyDeleteMaybe Dr. Kapuht has returned under a new name with a fake license. Dr. Finito will have Dawn scrubbing in for tummy brain surgery in no time.

Sure her father will appreciate it, but will he ENJOY it? Will he think it's NICE?
ReplyDeleteToday's Boldface Haiku is titled "Been There; Done That: We All Remember Dawn's Altruistic Turn With One-Armed Jim".
ReplyDeleteJob! College expenses.
Great. Where?
Medical group. School, fall.
Father...is?

This job pays for college expenses? Really? How much does it pay, $100/hr? Is Medical Group a strip club?
