Mary Worth 2692

What?? What the heck is wrong with this girl? What does she think love is? Any remaining respect I had for Dawn was just flushed down the toilet. She is AWFUL! "I'm not bad, I'm just written that way."

  1. Ah, note the Love Doves alighting inexplicably close to Dawn and Mary. Only Karen Moy symbolic birds would come so close to people. Maybe Mary will tell Dawn about her love for the (really) late Dear Jack. "I didn't cat around with a married man like your trollop 'friend,' Dawn."

  2. Flattery and a few dinners out (at bizzarely named French restaurants) is enough to make Dawn think she's "in love". Dawn has all the emotional maturity of a kid in middle school, and I'm not sure than even a twelve-year-old would buy "my lovely".

  3. "That's certainly not a good situation to be in." Wow, Mary must have dug down deep into her pearls of wisdom sack to come up with that one.

  4. "Oh, Dawn, you can't fool me. You don't have any friends. So, who's your beau? God, don't tell me it's Nasty Ned Fletcher. That guy should be in jail. He gave me a pelvic once that . . . well, I don't care to talk about it. But it took six weeks for his fingers to heal when I got through with him. You know what, I don't care. I'm not even going to meddle in your messed-up life. It's not worth it."

  5. Today's Boldface Haiku is titled "The Pro/Con List Should Be Easy For This One".

    Love not available.
    Too busy?
    No. Married!
    Oh, Dear! Not!

  6. Nice to see Wanders finally driven to sputtering rage by the Mobile Lump of Stupid called Dawn Weston.

  7. That bird hovering over the birdbath has been in the same position since yesterday. His wings must be VERY strong...Or maybe he's just trying to decideif he wants to be in the same airspace with someone as clueless as Dawn.

  8. Wouldn't it be great if tomorrow's strip shows Mary smacking Dawn upside the head with that bunch of roses?

  9. And BTW, what's the deal with that cloud? The bottom has two impossibly sharp and jagged edges. Is this some type of metaphor?

And BTW II, is that supposed to be the blue ocean in the background or a terribly built wall or what?

    Very odd.

  10. Enough with the finger quotes, Dawn. And principles? Dawn will date anyone with a pulse.

  11. "My friend has no principals Mary. Love is not for her."

    I don't think that's a jowl btw; that's a "goiter the size of a football."

  12. Not only no principals, but no secondaries either.

--If Dr. Ned gets Dawn pregnant, will JB draw her using Wilbur's body?
--Is the spikey cloud the beginning of Zues throwing a lightening bolt at Dawn or God reaching down to smite her (and if so, can Mary be collateral damage)?
--When do we get to meet Dawn's friend?
--Did Hurricane Irma tilt the palm trees at that angle?
--Why did Mr. Alora plant the palm trees so close to the building? That's got to be bad for the foundation.
--Why is Mary gardening in the public areas? Did she come up a little short on her association fees, perhaps losing a little more than expected in the cruise ship casino? Has Mr. Alora been replaced?
--Will the birds snatch Mary's hat and fly off?

    So many questions...

  13. "It's against her principles to date a married man."

Wow, I'll bet it's also against her principles to rob the blind and kick pets. "Her friend" appears to be a real tower of integrity.

"But she's strongly tempted to cast those aside."

    Well maybe not so much.

  14. "Explore their romance further"? The exploration so far has been goo-goo-eyed chats at the office and dinners at restaurants with off-putting names. Dawn, tell your "friend" that there's no there there.

If there was a Worthy Awards category for "Continuing Character You Most Want to Throttle," Dawn would win hands down, which is saying a lot for this strip.

  15. I can't decide if Dawn is more superficial, more vain, or just plain more dumb. She certainly doesn't have the sharpest intellect, let alone any common sense at all. This 'friend' crap is so phony even Mary knows Dawn is asking her to meddle into her life, not her 'friend's. It helps that Mary knows Dawn Weston has no friends. She spilled her guts to the meddling biddy before about Professor Harlan Jones and Mary told her to explore the relationship. Why not come right out and tell her that she is dating a married man?

  16. The Apple doesn't fall far from the tree- the Weston's can't say no to a free meal or someone who provides one.

  17. Evidently Wanders is so disgusted by Dawn's insipid behavior that he can't bring himself to deal with this plot line any more. And I don't blame him. I feel a little trashy myself.
