Who is Zak? How profound. That really is the $64,000 question, isn't it? Zak is a recent business school graduate who is now the president of Zakiks, the very successful gaming software company responsible for a very popular app that has taken off. However, he isn't too busy to spend all is time with Iris. He is traditionally handsome and very rich. He is the same age as Iris's son, Tommy. He likes to wear stubble on his face. Anything else?
Wanders, you described Zak much more thoroughly than Iris would have. Wilbur would be better off if he read MW & Me. And how long before Wilbur bumps into Mary, who will offer him some disgusting baked item she happens to have just made?
ReplyDeleteA question about the MW creative team - what happened to Roy? He used to get credit, didn't he?
Today's Boldface Haiku is titled
ReplyDelete"She Who Zaks Last, Zaks Best".
Can't! Zak!
Zak?
Dating. Left?
No Longer.
Zak has a cool car!

ReplyDelete"What happened to that woman you left me for?"
"She dumped me, so I'm back to settling for you. Uh, I mean, uh . . ."
-- Scottie McW.
Nance, you've outdone yourself! Bravissima!
ReplyDeleteDoes anyone in this universe hold a phone the way Wilbur is holing it in panel two? Also, my phone is not that tiny like Wilbur's. I think he has one of those "burner phone" that you buy in Walmart for $20.00.
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad that Iris knocked the smugness out of Wilbur. Instead of saying "The man I'm dating", she should say "The kid who's half my age with no last name, who has stubble on his face that matches the stubble on your legs, but it looks much better on him than it does on you."
I'm so hoping that Iris sticks to her convictions. But do we dare hope that Moy could possibly allow an older woman and a younger man to be happy?
ReplyDeleteSorry, Wilbur, but Iris got her groove back. Maybe she'll share her story of how she survived the breakup with you?
ReplyDeleteGreat title today Nance.
ReplyDeleteDoes Wilbur realize that the flip phone works better when flipped open? "I'm sorry Iris, I can hardly hear you. It sounded like you said 'the guy you're dating.'"
So, does Sunday's quotation from Dostoyevsky mean that Wilbur is a buffoon like Fyodor Pavlovich Karamazov? Did Wilbur lie about Diderot, too? Certainly, he is lying to himself, but Iris is giving him the hot, messy truth!
ReplyDelete@Gina, @Dave in Parma--Thank you. Every once in a while...!
ReplyDeleteWhy does KM hate Wilbur? He reminds of of J. Wellington Wimpy..."I'll gladly pay you Tuesday for a hamburger today."
ReplyDeleteZak is ... a hot dude!
ReplyDeleteSomehow Wilbur's hair looks even more pathetic than usual today...A metaphor for all he's trying to cover up?
