“No, my mistake. I thought you were Wilbur Weston. You’re just like him.”

  1. Apparently "Oof!" is French for "Ow!" I learn so much from MW.

  2. "Have we met?"

"No, but I see you around campus. You're the girl who's sleeping with Professor Jones!"

  3. “Hey, I know you! You’ve broken the University of Santa Royale Community College record for the number of years taking classes without having enough credits to graduate.”

  4. I bet they met on her trip to Italy.

  5. Today's Boldface Haiku is titled

"Dawn's Command Of The King's English Makes Her Instantly Recognizable".

    Sorry! My bad!
    C'est bien! Okay!
    Hey! Know!
    Met?

Perhaps it is a fellow survivor from the Cruise Ship Disaster!

  6. Is KM trying to get the millennial crowd to read MY with Dawn saying "my bad"? Who even says that anymore? But then, Dawn is about 40 years old, so she would say something like that.

I'm also betting Pepe Le Pew knows her from Dawn's six month long trip to "beautiful Italy". Her class made a pit stop to Paris and he was painting and sold Dawn one of his "originals", only for Dawn to find out that she, Harlan and the rest of the class bought the same painting. (Like in the I Love Lucy episode. I know, I watch way too much old TV.)

  7. Maybe it's the native Californian in me, but that guy's profile looks like a young Jerry Brown. I'm super excited about this story line already, how 'bout you?

  8. I like how the stranger realizes he needs to translate "C'est bien. " Just a glimpse of Dawn reveals she's not the brightest LED on the billboard.

  9. @Regina: “Pepe Le Pew”! I’m still hiccuping with delight!

  10. I hope they decide to chat over lunch at the same hamburger joint in the mall's food court where we saw Wilbur and Estelle.... we need to see that huge floating cheeseburger again. And I really hope that hunky guy orders escargot and Dawn orders a mayo sandwich. BTW - it takes a lot to make me laugh out loud but you did it today, Wanders! Thanks!

  11. Apparently Dawn's idea of "being spontaneous" includes just runnning into (literally) people.

  12. I worked in France for several years.

NOBODY that speaks French switches back and forth mid-sentence.
It's rude and arrogant. When people know you don't speak French they graciously speak English.

Only people that are trying to show off inject random words into conversation.

I dislike this guy already.... prétentieux !!!

  13. "Oof is French for "watch it, slut."
