OMG, when I read the strip this morning, I burst into laughter. Well, let's see Wilbur, I can only imagine what she thinks when she compare you to him. This is what she thinks "Zak, you're young, hunky, got all of your hair and you're rich. Wilbur, you're short, bald, ugly and have a dead end job. You're also a conceited jerk who thinks that I'm thinking of you day and night like you are of me. You know what I think of you Wilbur-you're a toad."
Ugh why is WIlbur combing that awful combover of his. Why even both with those twelve strands of hair?
And Wilbur, Tony Manero from Saturday Night Fever called. He wants his shirt back.
Uh, Wilbur, you self-absorbed putz, I don't think Iris spends a lot of time -- and by that I mean, I don't think she spends a split nanosecond -- comparing you to anyone. Just a hunch.
Earth to Wilbur: Iris and Zak are doing a lot more than dating.
Anyone else wondering why Iris hasn't slammed the door (literally and figuratively) on Wilbur? Unless she's planning for the double date to totally humiliate him and remove him from her life forever, why is she doing this? Could KM be concocting a scenario where Iris still has feelings (egad!) for Wilbur? That's the cockamamie kind of thing that she indulges in.
I'm delighted to see Wilbur is veering into Aldo Kelrast territory. By the end of the week he'll be fastening his clip-on bowtie and rubbing his hands together in anticipation of a perfect evening.
Wilbur is so delusional that he can't imagine what Iris thinks. His imagination can't identify looks, age, wealth, and common interests (Iris and Zak are both students).
How about, simply - he's here! (Not South America, not Mozambique)
If Wilbur really cared about Iris he'd be happy for her.
If he had any perspective he would and not view this as a competition.
This double-date will not win him Iris, and it will likely cost him Estelle.
Nance, another brilliant BFH! There have been some great ones lately.
Why did Iris say yes? She can't still have feelings for him, right? I would weep in frustration if that was the case. Wilbur is really repulsive in every way. Why do we have to keep hearing about him? How about bringing back Olive and her tummy brain? Or just follow one-eyed Libby around for a week. That would be more interesting, and certainly more palatable, than anything to do with El Putzo (which is I think what Fabiana called him behind his back.)
Don't be shy! I'd love to hear what you have to say about Mary Worth. Just keep it clean, that's all I ask. This is a FAMILY FRIENDLY blog. I don't want to moderate comments, but I will if I have to.

ReplyDelete"Wilbur's Daydream: Not Family-Friendly".
(Handsome young stud.
Together!
Imagine me him!)
HA!! Nance, you totally crack me up!

I’m trying to imagine what kind of muffin Mary could bake that says Yes, you should have low self-esteem.
ReplyDeleteNance, you're right on target again!

ReplyDeleteLooks like Wilbur's "date" is more revenge fantasy, or was until he looked in the mirror. Quick, Wilbur, come down with a case of diverticulitis!
ReplyDeleteDelusional and Selfish.

By the time he heads out for this double date Wilbur will be under three feet tall.
