Mary Worth 3394

"Hi, Madi. I'm Saul. We're first cousins twice removed. That makes Greta your second cousin, once removed. I'm just about to fry up some Spam. Would you like a slice?"

  1. "Thank you so much, Saul. Here's a list of Madi's strict dietary requirements. Also, you'll need to floss her teeth three times a day because she doesn't like doing it."

    "Uhhh...."

"Hey, Pops, where do you keep the ashtrays?"

  2. ...and we are off. Two months of grunts, cell phone obsession, and eye rolling.

  3. Wanders, maybe some of the posters are of Bella, though that’s only if Greta isn’t a jealous dog.

Madi sure travels light for someone staying for three months. Maybe she and first cousin twice removed Saul (good one, Wanders!) will go shopping at Marcy’s. At least Madi brought along the cardboard cutout of her father. She’s a good ventriloquist, too.

  4. I'd say Madi's attitude is justified. Wouldn't you all have an attitude if you were forced to live with an obscure relative who wears a coat and bow tie in the house, has a dog that wears a matching bow tie and the apartment is covered with pictures of said dog?

  5. In the hands of almost anyone other than Karen Moy, this could be interesting. It won’t be, so we must continue to rely on June amusing herself and us. I still consider Madi as Dawn 2.0, with an even worse haircut.

  6. Is James Allen the guest artist for Panel 1 today? I was thinking maybe Lyle had already been to Venezuela once before and encountered a tribe of headshrinkers who subjected him to Phase 1 of the procedure. But his head is back to normal size in Panel 2. Greta's neck in the portrait, however, has now stretched out like Bill the Cat's.

  7. I don't know, Yahoonski. Judging by Panel 2, I think the tribe Lyle encountered must have been handshrinkers.

  8. My guess is that Mary is peeking in through Saul's windows and taking notes. At least I hope she is. Time for some major league meddling I say.

  9. She wears her hiking boots like I do! As loafers with the laces untied!

  10. Lyle fits right in with the boneheaded cluelessness of the Charterstone community. I hope we'll be seeing much more of him when he returns from Venezuela.

  11. I just noticed Lyle's shoes. Is he wearing Birkenstock clogs?

  12. If that's all Madi's luggage, we need to either get used to the blue & pink, or she'll borrow Dawn's teen age outfits from 1987.

  13. Today's Boldface Haiku is titled

    "Somebody Needs A Muffin".

    Lyle Madi...welcome.
    So much.
    Hello!
    Hmmph!

  14. I always wondered who wore short-shorts, and now I know.

This will be fun, Madi and Saul, forced into confinement because of the coronavirus and fate — horrible, horrible fate!

  15. "Anything else I should know?"

    "Coca-cola is dark brown."

  16. "Lyle ... is there anything I should know about Madi before you go?" [he asked, his heart pounding with dread]

"Well, she's a complete slob, she doesn't get up before noon, and she's got a little drug habit. But I'm sure it's just a phase she's going through and she'll probably grow out of it. Oh, and I told her she can use your credit card."

    "My credi..."

    "Adios, amigo, y muchas gracias!"

  17. Lyle: "Sorry Saul, I can't stay, gotta go. Just remember Vaya Con Dios."

Saul: "Is there anything I should know about Madi?"

Lyle: "She hates liver and dachshunds. Gotta run. So long Madi."

    Madi: "Hmmph!"

  18. Hey Lyle, how about Madi’s dad skipping out of the country, ostensibly to a country that’s fraught with division and a terrible economy, and dumping her in an old relative she doesn’t know in the least? I guess that won’t bother her at all.

Hey Saul, you forgot to ask Lyle for his contact info in Venezuela.

  19. What if Lyle can't answer the question because he doesn't know anything about Madi either? What if Madi has been raised by her nameless grandmother while her dad gads about the world and now she's being pawned off on old man Wynter? I'm starting to feel really bad for Madi.

Don't be shy! I'd love to hear what you have to say about Mary Worth. Just keep it clean, that's all I ask. This is a FAMILY FRIENDLY blog. I don't want to moderate comments, but I will if I have to.
