She's excited because she swam in a pool? Well, okay, whatever floats your bod.
But now Prodigal Daddy is ripping her away from all her new friends (?) and new Gram. Alone again, naturally.
Meanwhile, Saul has snatched Greta back and is not letting her go until they're out of sight.
So where's Mary? Isn't she going to make an appearance at the send-off? And will Toby show up to give Madi a parting banana bread for the road? So much suspense!
BTW, a friend brought me a loaf of banana bread (no raisins, bless her). I had a slice for breakfast. It was yummy. I don’t know what her secret ingredient is, but I’m gonna guess...bananas?
Great reference to "The Shining", M Wanders! I do think, though that Madi is reprising that Highlights magazine feature, Goofus and Gallant, where she gets to play both roles.
Regarding Madi’s hair maintenance, there’s a mobile groomer who comes to take care of Greta on a regular basis. They have also agreed to freshen up Saul’s brush cut and sanitize those bow ties, so they must have taken on Madi’s do too. (“Just give her a poodle butt”)
Oh dad or whoever you are, I could stay and stay and stay and never ever wrap up this storyline!
Let me drag it out by explaining how I kept my hair color all summer, or calculating how much therapy will cost for my abandonment issues. Get comfortable.
Don't be shy! I'd love to hear what you have to say about Mary Worth. Just keep it clean, that's all I ask. This is a FAMILY FRIENDLY blog. I don't want to moderate comments, but I will if I have to.

ReplyDelete@Scottie McW., I figure Mary will show up tomorrow in time to reap a big weekend of effusive praise and thanks.
I didn’t know Banana Bread Savior was a valid career choice.
ReplyDeleteMadi, how can we miss you if you won’t go away?

I swam in a pool? Is Madi 4 or 14?
ReplyDeleteThis is the comic strip version of The Long Goodbye.
ReplyDeleteMy prediction that Madi would be adopted by the Camerons seems to have been way off.

ReplyDeleteIf Madi's been in Santa Royale for three months, how come her bangs aren't any longer than they were on the day of her arrival?

Anonymous, obviously Madi has had her bangs cut at Nancy Pelosi's salon all summer. One at at time, folks!

Today's (shockingly but fashionably late) Boldface Haiku is titled
ReplyDelete"The Part of Madi Will Be Played By Shirley Temple".
Grateful, hospitality.
Yes! Won't.
All right?

Mary...
