Mary Worth 3673

I hope the People's Clinic has a decent burn unit.

  1. It’s an engineering marvel that Shauna’s top has stayed in place throughout all this action.

What are the odds that Ashlee and Shauna would each buy coffee at the only shop that doesn’t put lids on the cups, yet the coffee stays steaming hot? (I agree, Wanders, this substance does not look like coffee.)

  2. A security guard rushes to step between the two. "Ladies, ladies, please. This is the People's Clinic. You want the @#$%'s Clinic."

Wow, another felony assault in MW this year! First LateHusbandGary tries to cap Eve, now these two are swapping Folger's facials. I'm sure Drew will be impressed by the depth of their devotion to him.

  3. Let's hope the clinic has a burn unit.

(I know this is a comic strip, and therefore the height of unreality, but coffee hot enough to steam vigorously as in panel one is hot enough to do serious damage to a face at close range.)

But I want to raise a more fundamental point: Where is Mary? We saw her discuss Young Dr. Drew's Misspent Love Life out on the water with He Who Owns A Boat, but in the past months, Mary has become less and less at the center of things in Sant Royale.

Is her absence in the past few storylines a signal that Mary is on the way out? Has ComicHQ's HR Team decided to go with a younger character, one whose Meddle Force has not been weakened by constant use? Can Mary even summon up the power to meddle anymore? Or is she reduced to a lesser sphere of influence, such as haunting Mr. Allora's dreams about a new tenant, or making Toby worry whether there is enough chlorine in the Charterstone pool? Will Mary fade so much that at one point her pearls will fly off her body and seek out a new Meddle Lantern?

I'm sure my fears are unfounded.
    Mary Worlth is Eternal.
    The Worthiverse is secure.
All is right in Santa Royale.
    It has to be.

  4. Shauna Of The BrainDead doesn’t get a container of coffee thrown in her face every day, but when she does, she absorbs it right through her cheek.

%$#@& evolution in action. Take that, creationists!

  5. Not a very hard substitution cypher puzzle; 5 symbols = 5 letters. Good think I served in the Navy and CAN swear like a sailor! There are several possible pejoratives but I'll choose "KAREN."

  6. Ice lattes would have been a better choice given the heatwave much of the US is experiencing. Also a thrown iced drinks, while still unpleasant, would not leave welts and deep facial scars afterwards. Just saying.

  7. So far at the People's Clinic, we've seen neither patients nor staff. Maybe setting up a pretend clinic was Dr Jeff's way of keeping Drew busy after he flunked out of med school. Drew spends his days wandering around the empty clinic in his baby blue lab coat, doodling on prescription pads, counting out baby aspirin from little bottles, checking his teddy bear's heartbeat with a toy stethoscope. Today he'll have to come clean when he walks in and finds two burn victims.

  8. Wow, I've been on sabbatical seven months and look what I've been missing! Two women fighting over Dr. Drew with coffee yet. Where is Jerry Springer when you need him!

  9. Dr. Drew: May I now photograph you both for the "Hideously Deformed Maniacs" section of my Instagram? This works out perfectly for me!

  11. I guess the People's Clinic doesn't have any security.

  12. The coffee was steaming two days ago. Both will be horribly scarred and their modelling careers will be over.
