Mary Worth 3785

Third! It's the third chance. I am not sure how I can make this any more clear. At least last time the break up was over his alcoholism. This time, it's over a cat.

  1. Not only has there been a dearth of floating heads this year, Estelle’s nose barely made it into today’s.

Tomorrow: Wilbur knocks on Estelle’s door with lunch from Harry’s Hog House for Estelle and Felix’s Fish Frenzy for Libby. (No soup for you, Pierre.)

  3. Although the language might sound awkward at first blush (to readers not immersed in the cultured atmosphere of the Comp Lit deparatment at Cal State Santa Royale), that dialogue in the first panel is clearly a clever homage to the late Theodore Geisel. Nicely done, Ms. Moy!

    The Cat in Foot Apparel

I can be friends with a cat..
or at least, I can TRY!
    (Although I had threatened
    to make said cat die)

    I sat there all mopey
    After my breakup with Carol
'Wait, I know some new tricks!'
said the cat in foot apparel.

    'I'll make muffins and meddle
    Stell will try something new.
Two chances - I call them
    Chance One and Chance Two.

    These Chances won't hurt you.
    they want to have fun.'
    then, out of the box
came Chance Two and Chance One!'

    'No! not again!'
said the fish in the pot.
'The sing-off forbade a third chance!
    They should not!'

    'But i like to meddle.
oh, i like it a lot!'
said the cat in foot apparel
to the fish in the pot.

But the fish said, 'no! no!
    make that cat go away!
tell that cat in foot apparel
you do NOT want to play.

Should Stell make up with Wilbur?
    now, what should she do?
    well...
    what would YOU do
    if Wilbur asked YOU?

  4. Is there any doubt that later this week Wilbur will be yelling "Stella" at her door, with a torn t-shirt and head in hands, a la Stanley in "A Streetcar Named Desire"?

  6. This second chance these is irritating to me. KM seems to have forgotten.

  7. Dr. Cameron- Brilliant!
Martin- I like the idea, but do we want to see Wilbur shirtless?
This is turning into the endless "dogs are good" hell KM put us through.

  8. Super comments by Wanders and all today! There appears to be an inverse relationship between KM's lack of creativity and the creative powers of the creator and readers of MW & Me.

  9. Wonderful comments, all! I think JB is trying to illustrate a shadow, but Wilbur's nose looks really odd, like maybe he contracted leprosy during his separation from Estelle...

  10. In panel 2, the part of Wilbur is played by the late Karl Malden.

Don't be shy! I'd love to hear what you have to say about Mary Worth. Just keep it clean, that's all I ask. This is a FAMILY FRIENDLY blog. I don't want to moderate comments, but I will if I have to.
