Mary Worth 3842

I'm not in college anymore, so I don't totally remember how to throw a Frisbee, but I'm pretty sure it wasn't like that.

This has to be a very meta experience for June Brigman. To have Toby evaluating her work must be both gratifying and stressful at the same time. However, I'm quite sure that one thing June has never said is, "I have a keen eye." I'm pretty sure she is more likely to say, "My eye is savvy."

I am actually really enjoying this story so far. I can relate with Cal's mother. I am hopeful that his experience at SRCc will inspire Cal to study, learn and achieve his full potential. What I don't want, though, is for him to start hanging out with bad inflences... like his teacher.

It's almost as if Cal is ashamed of his artistic talents. "I have other interests, that probably pay a lot better. But I sure like using negative space in your class."

There's nothing as inspiring as a perfectly normal and appropriate teacher/student relationship.

Hey, it looks like Toby gets a May-December romance story as well! Wait, isn't she already living a May-December romance story? I'm having trouble keeping track of what month it is!

But here's the calendar as best I can remember:

  • Wilbur and Fabiana
  • Dawn and Ned
  • Dawn and Harlan
  • Iris and Zak
  • Eve and Saul
  • Toby and Ian
  • Ian and Janni
  • Toby and Cal

Awww, Brenda drew her teacher. What a great student. Unless the assignment was to draw someone who inspires you. Then she's just a kiss up.

I'm actually looking forward to these classroom scenes. Since they are probably inspired by June Brigman's real life experience as a college level art instructor, they should be full of nuanced story telling. Of course, the students are based on real people, so it could be humiliating for her real life students, which I am also looking forward to.

"Have you gotten a good collection of eager minds?" will definitely be nominated for a Worthy Award this year. I am certain Toby's lectures are intellecutally stimulating and exhilarating, stoking young imaginations and firing their future success as leaders and artists. I only hope we get to attend a class soon!

"No, Toby, it is better that we not spend time in the car together or share lunch at work. This way, when we come home, you can ask me how was my day and I can say, "Fine." Can't you see how this is better?"

Toby, I believe the proper idiom is "A whole 'nother ballgame." It is derived from the expression "Another whole ballgame." If you're going to teach at the community college level, you're going to have to learn the slang of the young, or you will become the laughingstock of the miniature figurine department.

It's taking a long time for Mary to work her way through Outlander because she seems unable to concentrate and her eyes are closed.

The Highs and Lows of Wilbur Weston's Misadventures #1

"After-Affects? My girlfriend hates me again and my daughter hates me again, but that will soon pass. My entire life is lived without consequences."

I'm sorry Dawn and Estelle aren't here to feel embarrassed as well.
Well, I guess we've seen the last of Ian for a while.

Well, I would have liked to have heard more about Wilbur's time away as well. But perhaps answering the questions left unanswered just isn't why we are here. Let's get on with Toby's birthday party! Wait, it's over? We missed that, too? Okay... maybe there could just be some more talking then. That's always good for a week or so.

The gift was watching Wilbur fall overboard. Let's just accept that part.

These ladies have each other, and Wilbur has ... Dawn. Just Dawn, and that's only because she can't pay her own rent.

"Here's to the Ladies who Lunch," Elaine Stritch's anthem. has been added to the jukebox.

Mary, forgiveness does not require Estelle to get back together again again again. No one wants that except for you. You are an enabler's enabler.
