Mary Worth 4070

God's kind of upset at you for rejecting his holy sacrament of marriage. Perhaps you should tell Zak that you will marry him now.

Since things are getting scary, I thought it might not be too early to roll in the Charterstone Halloween Party Jukebox. Enjoy!

    Iris:

“Mary…I HAD to let him go.”

    Mary:

    “WHAT are you talking about?”

    Now we know, Mary.

  2. Zak, why aren’t you using both arms?

  3. Iris hasn't been to church in thirty years, so I'm not sure this is going to help.

  4. Don't worry Iris. No one dies in the Mary Worth universe. Except for Granny who liked
    colors.

  5. I guess Zak is just going to hang out there for the week.

  7. Wanders, it's not Halloween themed but I think Rihanna's release yesterday of her groundbreaking single "Lift Me Up" was perfectly timed for the jukebox. One almost suspects she signed a secret multimillion-dollar promotion deal with King Features Syndicate.

For next week, perhaps the classic "Free Falling" by Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers. Today Zak is wondering how much longer he can hang on; I think we all know it may be quite a bit longer than one would expect.

  8. Zak:

Women are able to lift cars off their children.

    Iris:

Sure! If it was Tommy, I could do it, no problem, but…YOU’RE NOT MY CHILD! YOU’RE JUST SOME RANDO WHO WAS ACTING LIKE A JACK—-! Gotta leave now, I have a class later. Good luck with your problem, dear.

  9. Zak, since you’re running out of time here, maybe forget about Iris and instead start singing “Love Lifted Me”. It’s your only chance.

  10. Oh, Wanders, can you play the Kinks' Tired of Waiting?!

    I'm tired of waiting
    I am tired of waiting
    I'm tired of waiting

    I'm tired
    Of the long way down
    The long way down
    The long way down
    The long way down, hey

So I stand to let you down

It perfectly captures the plodding progress of this plop. Oops, I mean plot.

  11. I think some well-chosen bromides like "God helps those who help themselves." or "Pull yourself up by your bootstraps" might be appropriate here. They may not help Zak, but they could help Iris get over the guilt she's going to feel when Zak lets go of that vine...

Don't be shy! I'd love to hear what you have to say about Mary Worth. Just keep it clean, that's all I ask. This is a FAMILY FRIENDLY blog. I don't want to moderate comments, but I will if I have to.
