Mary Worth 2721

There were many great entries in yesterday's caption contest, but this morning's last-minute entry by Meg pretty much sums up my feelings today:

Congratulations! Meg, if you have a favorite Halloween song to add to the jukebox for the big blow-out bash at the Charterstone clubhouse, let me know! You've earned it.

  1. I read Meg's entry before reading today's strip, so I can't say I wasn't warned. She's right on again.

What Mary should type next: Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz [snore]

  2. Nice going, Meg!

Good morning, readers. Would you like some saccharine with your morning coffee?

Jeez, is this what the rest of the week is going to look like?

Oh well, at least Mary doesn't tweet.

  3. Good Work, Meg! At least your advice makes real sense.

Today's Boldface Haiku is titled "Would You Like Some Bread With Your Word Salad Of The Day?"

    Real Love.
    True Love,

  4. Congratulations, meg! And now, back to the tedium that is Mary Worth.

  5. And at least Meg's advice is actually advice, not a rambling tangent on various types of love. I think the reader just wanted to know if true love exists or not. That's a "yes" or "no" question, Mary...

  6. The sad thing is, aside from the cringe-worthy and totally unrealistic wistfulness for Wilbur on the part of Iris, the whole salsa studio business looked like an "exciting" new direction for the plot. Now we're back to watching a rambling biddy type vapid non-answers on her "specially for seniors" laptop. Sigh.

Do you suppose Dawn participated in the post-Weinstein "Me Too" campaign on Twitter?

  7. I’d like to thank my family, all the crew, my producer, Harvey Weinstein...oh, wait, not the Oscars....

How about, Nina Simone’s ‘I Put a Spell on You’.

  8. Looking for something much more interesting than the current 'plot', I decided to read the news and found out that Mary is actually real, though apparently she goes by the name of "Eileen.' Mary must be a stage name for the strip.

Don't be shy! I'd love to hear what you have to say about Mary Worth. Just keep it clean, that's all I ask. This is a FAMILY FRIENDLY blog. I don't want to moderate comments, but I will if I have to.
