Mary Worth 964

This has turned into some sort of bizarre father-daughter version of "Whose Afraid of Virginia Wolf." More booze!

Obviously everyone is completely around the bend.

Wilbur is pouring another glass of Blue Nun while Dawn Pleads with her soda can while texting on a sponge.

Wanders...the V.W and the Secret Comment are priceless!!!

So, is Wilbur pushing Dawn away or pulling her closer in panel 2? Maybe the story is about Wilbur's onset of blindness, as he obviously can't see his own daughter.

This strip really would be more interesting if you read it in your head with Elizabeth Taylor & Richard Burton's voices. I predict a scene coming up, where Mary is annoyed that Jeff is reading his Kindle at the Bum Boat, instead of talking to her at dinner. Darn all this modern technology!

Elaine, I was thinking the same thing! He's not even looking at her, his vision is off somewhere in the distance, perhaps thinking about a ham sandwich.

Wilbur has no cause for worry. The family that drinks together...

Wilbur looks about 20 years younger in panel 2 than in panel 1 (combover notwithstanding). Is he time-traveling to become, uh, NOT her father any more, but her contemporary and closest friend who wants to help her overcome her addiction?

Yum! Dawn is chasing her diet cola drink with a can of orange-flavored ensure. And Wilbur's drinking his Blue Nun for supper and shoving and or pulling Dawn around the kitchen like a crazy person.

Gosh, why WOULDN'T Dawn want to spend more quality time with the ole man?

What Dawn really needs is a boyfriend. I hear there's a lot of nice guys on OKCupid!

As if Wilbur wasn't creepy enough...

I think it's about time Mary shows up to diffuse this situation.
