Lola was Shaken Baked! I think it was that plant explosion by her head in Panel 1.
Look at Mary in panel 2 - if I'm not mistaken, she has gotten out of her chair and is looming in Nola's face, in front of the Museum of White China. Creepy!
Wait, did Mary and Nola just change seats? Maybe that's what shook Nola awake, all that rapid movement.
I think even Mary is bored at this point. Check out her face in Panel 1. Not even paying attention.
All the rapid movement noted by other readers is causing Mary's hair to pitch forward. It's a good thing Mary used Krazy Glue on her crockery!Isn't it ironic that Nola was shaken awake as the rest of us are being lulled into a stupor? How many days can Nola and Mary continue to say the same thing?
I'm sure the plates are securley fastened some how. Just be thankful Mary didn't teach us how to do that in a 'How To' strip.
Is Nola so horrifically shaken that she has forgotten how to properly hold cutlery? Looks like she's grabbed her dessert fork/spoon by the business end and is waving it by the handle at MW. This "storyline" is so glacial in its pace that it is worse even than the Wallet Tale. Maybe Goleta Girl will rush in, pursued by the homeless guy who Nola credits with her epiphany...? Sigh. Just hoping.
Nola, the hobo had much more than nothing, he had a shopping cart full of ketchup and shampoo, don't you remember?
I can understand the differences in the background art from one day to the next. But with only two panels, why is there no continuity within one day's strip? Today, there are no dividers between the plates on the shelves in panel one, yet there they are in panel two. This strip looked familiar, so I checked back and on 4/11 the first panel was very similar to today's. Except the cabinet behind Mary is completely different, and there are now plants behind Nola. But Nola is still waiving her "utensil" in the air.
I prefer the massive, ginormous chest of drawers.
All that shaking caused a shift inside.
Thorpnotitized@10.16a - you're overthinking the comic strip much too much. You're showing signs of mental strain. You should visit Rex Morgan to regain your composure.
Are we there yet? Are we there yet? Will this storyline never end?I keep hoping that someday that something remotely interesting will happen in the Worthiverse. Last year I was really convinced that Liza was going to develop into a full-fledged, knife-weilding, bunny-boiling stalker, but then MW convinced her to "go into sales".Wither Nola? Social Work, perhaps?
Does Mary own any dishes that actually have a pattern on them? White dishes are okay, but I don't know that I've ever visited a house where plain white dishes were put on display. Are white dishes a rarity in Santa Royale? Are they dishes she collected from Diner, Luna/Mr J, Lemon Wedge and Restaurant? Or maybe her dishes are made from ivory? I'm puzzled.
@ phoebes 12:21 p.m. - The nearly non-existent advancement in this storyline makes me focus on other aspects, such as the artwork. Rex Morgan is not in our local paper. Are the storylines there this slow to develop?
What this shi...fty-shaky party needs is some Kelkie cookies and free rainbow swirl ice cream! (Anything that doesn't require Nola to use sharp utensils.)
Thorp, no comic goes this slowly.
