Mary Worth 1,722

It's concrete, Mary. Concrete. Not cement. It's the Concrete Jungle. But if you weren't so obsessed with the Beauty of Nature, maybe you'd know that.

You want nature? Why don't you head down to Chef Pierre's and visit your old friend, John Dill. I'm sure he's got a whole room frosted in a nature motif featuring hundreds and hundreds of images and figurines of you as Mother Nature.

That's not a map, that's the ginormous Canadian crossword puzzle the Cleveland Plain Dealer prints every year to get us through the holiday season.

If Mary does find Central Park, she may find it to be just as challenging as the Arizona desert in its way. Enjoy the beauty of nature, Mary, but maybe don't carry that big shoulder bag purse of yours.

A nighttime stroll through Central Park is always pleasant. And Shelly would no longer feel she is neglecting her house guest.

I do hope Mary remembers to stretch before she runs from the purse snatchers! It is important that she also drinks plenty of water before she runs from a mugger!

Are you guys living in the 1970s? NYC has become very safe, and somewhat boring.

I think Mary should be held up by a mugger with a gun. With one platitude and a hug from Mary, the guy could be reformed right on the spot.

BaHa, it doesn't matter what decade we're living in. The Worthiverse takes place sometime in the 40's, I think.

I hope Mary takes a ride on the Carousel. Perhaps she'll see a youngster, tearful and tattered, and offer to pay for his/her ticket and start a full-scale "plot".

Yeah, this is definitely heading to Mary 'saving the day' for some poor troubled teen. She doesn't just want some kudos from an 'honoree' at and awards banquet. She wants--nay--DESERVES to be the star of the show. *sigh*

BTW, she can't stand the gray concrete of NYC but the dry, monochrome red of the desert was just fine? What a nut.

Concrete is cement, rocks & sand.

Mary likes rocks and sand. Rocks and sand just sit there, like every "plot" this year.

Central Park? Is that some new area of the city built in the last few years? Mary acts as if she's never heard of it.

Actually, Central Park opened after Mary Worth left New York in 1856. Boy, is she going to be surprised when she sees what happened to the old pasture she used to herd sheep in!

Mary does the Big Apple. What a concept. I hope that Shelly reminds her that the Bronx is up and the Bowery is down.

@chin Napkin Groupie: Don't you know you must never refer to New York City as "The Big Apple" in this blog? I made that mistake once and received death threats in a subsequent post.

On Sunday, Mary parades through Central Park with Shelly's brand new bag and stares at the world's ugliest squirrel.
