Please tell me this is just a bad dream, and not a real comic strip.
Today's Full Strip
I'm going to bet right here that the resolution of this story (or its recap on a Sunday - possibly a Sunday sometime in December) includes the quote from Hamlet - "There are more things in Heaven and Earth, Horatio, than are dreamt of in your philosophy."No - who am I kidding? It will probably be something from a greeting card...
Since Mary's eyes are closed, does Panel 2 count as a floating head? It's a good thing Mary spent a lot of time in that desert spa's pool. She'll jump right in and rescue Olive - just like in Baywatch.
There's a precedent for this, isn't there? Mary dreamt that Dr. Jeff was seriously ill at Peace Village. At least she only needs to go outside, rather than fly to Vietnam.
Bad news, Olive. Mary is dead. She's turned blue.
@fauxprof at 9:00 AM, by the time Mary gets dressed, fastens her pearl necklace, and puts in her earrings, enough time will have passed for a flight to Vietnam. Fortunately, although Olive can't swim she's good at flailing.
Olive rolls into the pool today with head & feet reversed from the way she fell yesterday. When she hit the ground she must have done a "circle walk" like Curly does in "The Three Stooges." (woo-woo-woo-woo)
KitKat, it looks like she wore her earrings to bed. She's probably got her pearls on too, so she's ready to go.
Mary and Olive share a psychic connection! Will Mary be in time to save poor Olive? Or will she just turn over, stretch, and let out a loud snore that covers over little Olive's terrified screams? Tune in tomorrow! (or maybe in three weeks to get to the end of this plot)
I'm disappointed in Mary's rather subdued, single "No!" There's no italics, no boldface, and what's with the trailing effect of the ellipsis? On another note, she and Olive are wearing matching nighties!
Ooooh, I wonder if they have matching torso cysts.
Shades of The Shining! Olive as Danny Torrance I can see, but Mary reprising Scatman Crothers' memorable role? No. Flipping. Way.
I am surprised to see Mary sleeping on her stomach, doesn't she know that is bad for your back? Olive seems to be hesitantly asking for help. What's that all about?
The past two nights I dreamed I killed people, though one was a smiling blonde vampire at a vet clinic. Now I'm worried. Dreams can be real! Maybe the vampire had a torso cyst? Anyway, why doesn't anyone at Charterstone hear Olive screaming?
