Every time we've seen Dr. Kapuht he's worn a different tie, even in today's sort-of-floating head. Maybe the ties are the reason he's a bad doctor: "Germy lab coats and ties prompt dress code for doctors" - http://www.usatoday.com/story/news/nation/2014/01/21/doctor-dress-code-germs/4718253/
I hope there's a flashback to an unsavory Mary-Dr. Kapuht back story.
I'm really feeling rather badly for poor Dr. K. What do you suppose makes him a bad doctor - his grumpy expression? His unfortunate surname? It really doesn't seem fair.
I predicted this many weeks (months? Years?) ago. Olive confides in Mary who then digs around and finds the dirt on Dr K. Olive's parents realize that Olive has been right all along, apologize profusely, and become model parents. Of course, they now must scour the country for another torso cyst surgeon (at great cost & effort) so that will annoy them anew. Dr. Kapuht is going down, baby!
Really, the bad doctor refrain is maddening. As far as we know, neither of Olive's parents ever once asked her what she meant by it or where she got that impression. Will Mary will finally ask, or will we have to wait for a confrontation with the bad doctor himself, who will challenge Olive's description of him a la the Joe Pesci character in Good Fellas: "Bad how? Do I make you ill instead of well? Do I leave sponges inside my surgery patients? Do I fail to warm my stethoscope? In what way am I bad?
Does anyone remember the story in the Ladies' #1 Detective Agency, where a doctor was good one day, and bad the next? It turns out that twins were trying to run a doctor's office, and only one of them was really a doctor. That explains the mustache falling off. You just have to catch Dr. Kapuht on Mondays, Wednesdays, and every other Friday!
@Carlye at 1:10 PM, you are brilliant! We'll know if KM is indeed "borrowing" from that series if Toby starts bragging about achieving a 97 percent at the Santa Royale Secretarial College.
I've been busy and tuned out when I saw Olive talking to the pixies, but wow! All the action of the flying Mary diving in that stylish swimsuit Sunday! I have seen action like that in this strip since the shootout at the SantaRoyMart.

Thankfully, Olive put in her mouth guard before jumping into the pool. Heaven forbid she need dental work from Dr. Doohm.

I think Dr. Kapuht should suggest hydrotherapy for that beaver-faced Olive... LOTS OF IT... with electrodes!

@Carlye OMG, that's awesome! We can only hope Moy has read that book and "borrows" ideas from it.
