That has got to be one of the more strange ways for Mary to hold her glass.
I don't know about comic strip writing...but "Mary Worth" can be strange.
Oh, no! This looks suspiciously like Mary is about to launch into yet another tale of woe from her own childhood. Could it be that this lengthy story of angels and cysts and trivialized near-drownings and lingering aftereffects was nothing more than an introduction at another glimpse into Mary's complex soul? Perhaps we will find out after Recap Sunday.
The Taylors must have "worked it out" off strip because we saw no evidence of Ed and Evy addressing their daughter's behavior in any serious way. It was more like "la dee da, tomorrow's another day."
I agree with @TimP at 9:52 a.m. re Mary's grip on her glass. Maybe she will press so hard that the glass will shatter. Toby will drive her to the Mountview ER, where Dr. Kapuht is on duty. I can't wait to hear him say, "Come here, I won't bite."
@Kit Kat: You raise a good point. Is Dr. Kapuht out of the picture? Why is he a bad doctor? What motivates his drug habit? Will he get his comeuppance or just disappear forever?
I have to say, I LOVE these Mary-Toby chats, though! (non-ironic comment)
Sunday
Mary's obsession with Olive is extremely disturbing. What is Karen Moy thinking? Yikes!
Meanwhile, Toby checks for lumps.
And despite their incredible connection, Mary will neither see nor speak of Olive, ever again.
We do not approve of this mid-day drinking!
Wanders, by the time you got to Toby's "tee-hee," I was standing and giving you a golf clap!
