When I Googled "movie with happy ending lifts us up takes us away," I got several listings for Blade Runner, which suits Sean just fine, but I'm not sure it is what Hanna had in mind. It's the classic chick flick dilemma. Sean will take her to see Mommy because he wants a goodnight kiss. But he may want to reconsider getting more serious unless he really likes boring movies.

My, she's moved pretty quickly into the 'dear' stage.
If Hanna wants to be taken away, maybe she should consider going home and taking a bubble bath with Calgon.
This is a shoutout to the late great Joe Cocker, and they're going to see "An Officer and a Gentleman."
Somehow and somewhere, Hanna changed clothes between Sean's apartment and the doctor's office. (On Monday and Tuesday, she wore a purple top under a black cardigan. Today it's a pink dress.) This opens up the possibility of some un-family-friendly scenarios. I suppose it's possible that she always has a change of clothes at hand and changed in one of the examination rooms.
Maybe Hanna and Sean should go to the oldies theater and see "Cocoon."
The only thing that could save this plot is if they are crossing the street to the movies and one of them gets hit by a car. . . Otherwise, Zzzzzzzzz. . .
Since it's 3:00 in Panel One, she'd better add "something that's only an hour long", or else the movie will cut into their Dinner Hour.
"Casablanca" is probably still playing at the Santa Royale Art Cinema.
There is something about how this relationship is portrayed that is creepy. The only thing that should be lifted up and taken away is Ms. Moy.
Sean seems to be in a fairly joyous mood even after enduring a delightful prostate exam
Thanks Meg, now I can't get the image of Sean carrying Hanna out with a sailor's hat on her head. If that happens, I hope Sean trips and drops her in front of a truck.

Wanders, thank you for your judicious editing of yesterday's posts.
Today's strip makes it clear that Mr. Giella hasn't visited a movie theater in a looonnggg time. However, it's hilarious that he inserted Stretch Armstrong right behind Sean in the first panel!
Thursday:
And The Thing from Addams Family is tucked under his arm in the second panel. That definitely isn't Hanna's hand!
Dear Lord, how much longer do we have to suffer this story line? Doesn't this seem bizarrely long to you?
