I can certainly see why Olive invited Mary to come visit her: She always lets her order extra platitudes on her sundae.
Today's full strip
Is anyone else having trouble with their computer shutting down when viewing this blog? Mine has ever since I foolishly checked out that optical illusion attachment that Wanders included last week. Aaaarrrrgggghhhhh!! BTW - it wasn't exactly family friendly. Just saying.......
I was having troubles after upgrading to Windows 10... but it was with everything. It's worked out now.
Wanders, we've missed you! Especially now that Apt 3-G is kaput (heh heh), a day without a new installment of MW&M is like a day without sunshine.
I think Serendipity Restaurant General Store itself is hallucinogenic. The sinister teddy bear and haphazardly arranged weird items looming around that table would make me flee, not order glop sundaes. Speaking of which, as Meddler Extraordinaire, Mary gets a cherry on her glop today. "Olive, note how I point!"What was the reason Olive summoned Mary, anyway? Feeling different from others is par for the course for this kid. Does Olive go to school? Does she associate with anyone her age?
Mary's sundae: several scoops of plain, sugar-free, fat-free, gluten-free, quinoa flavored frozen yogurt--with a cherry on top! (Any bets that we'll still be sitting there at Serendipity on Thanksgiving Day?)
Now that you bring up Thanksgiving, fauxprof, I realize that Mary not only more or less invited herself to visit the Taylors for "a few weeks," she also decided to arrive just a few days before Thanksgiving! It will be interesting to see how the Taylors approach this particular holiday.
We all know the real reason Mary is visiting Olive and her parents: so she can have some new faces around the Thanksgiving table as she brings in the turkey on Thursday. Of course, she'll have to commandeer the kitchen first, but that shouldn't be a problem for ol' Mary.
Sinister Teddy Bear nods knowingly. His moment to attack will come soon, very soon.
Someone on the Seattle PI website had the brilliant idea to nickname Mary "Darth Meddulous". HAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!Meanwhile, I guess Apartment 3-G is gone for good. I haven't looked at that strip in years but I remember its being much better drawn. It looks like something out of the 1940s. Guess we should be grateful that Mr. Giella can still draw pretty well, even if we nit-pick the fine points. And isn't he in his late 80s?
Jeepers, what a tony joint! I'll take my ice cream with a shot of tequila!
