Compelled by the knowledge that their working life is growing shorter every minute, the acrobats REFUSE to leave the stage, even during INTERMISSION!
Today's full strip
If this doesn't end soon, Olive's "school break" will extend past Groundhog Day into Valentine's Day and President's Day. Or maybe Tee-Hee Evy is no more into schedules than cooking or laundry?
Olive is home schooled. That's why she has no idea how to behave as one her age would. She has never been around anyone her own age. Perhaps her parents have her enrolled in the virtual school program, so she can sit at the computer doing vocabulary enhancing lessons while they are busy with their tee-heeing.
"An acrobat's working life is short" .... said no 8-year-old EVER!Say Mary, speaking of things lasting, what's the shelf life of Kelk?
it certainly IS short Olive-Ball Boy is only 23 but his hair turned lint white after having to perform his perverse part of this routine-now pass me some more of those GOOD pork chops
Fortunately, being a nosy, meddling old busybody is something that you. just get better and better at the older you get. "When you're a miner, they lay you off when you get too old and sick and stupid to do the job ; whereas when you're a judge, the very opposite is true."**Shoutout to Beyond the Fringe
Little Olive asks, "Why are Mommy and Daddy being so gross, Mary? Is that what Mr. Dill wanted to do with you?"Mary responds, "There, there, dear. There are some things that you can only do when you're relatively young. ... When you love doing something, how long it lasts doesn't really matter."Evy and Ed clear their throats in unison and say together, "Well, come on, Mary, we beg to differ!"
I'm wondering what, exactly, is the point KM is trying to beat us over the head with regarding the constant "romantic"...affection between Ed and Evy. Is it Just There, omnipresent, for some sort of Character Development, or are we supposed to infer that Olive is Neglected because she has Randy Parents? Either way, WE GET IT.(If only they were in a Real-Time Online Porn Series. Now THAT would be an interesting plot line.)
I'm glad to know that intermission is between acts.
I love all of these comments.
Yeah, Nance, I was going to mention that apparently EVERYTHING gets Olive's parents in a romantic mood!
I am surprised the Olive's parents have not taken center stage during intermission to do their own acrobatics!"Onto the swing Eve!""Tee-heeeeeeeeee (crash)"
SundayThe acrobat show isn't exactly Cirque due Soleil, is it? Gunmetal gray stage with a pink drapery background (pink drapes, a Worthiverse staple).Ex and Evy may be planning a tee-hee interlude, though Evy looks tired. Too many pork chops?
Ed, not Ex (though maybe that's what Evy is thinking if she's more than tired)
