Mary Worth 2260

Uh-oh, looks like Jeff is starting to get suspicious. Good thing he didn't ask this question last year or Mary would have had to tell him all about her romantic tryst with Ken Kensington. Now, all she has to say is, "Yeah, I took Olive to see John Dill. He hit on me again. The poor sap."

Dr. Jeff is hoping the sight of his Ample Chest Hair will tantalize her. Failing that, she cannot hope but be impressed by the Ample Trunk Space of his vehicle.

Mary is a glib commitment-o-phobe. Any guy who falls for her is a poor sap. (It's really fun to watch, though!)

Yesterday, I predicted a huge SMOOCH! Today, I am sorely disappointed ...

Uh-oh is right! I remember the first time John Dill came up in a conversation Mary and Jeff were having. Also, it seems that Mary's suitcase keeps getting bigger and bigger. What's that all about.

Jealous men shouldn't wear orange leisure suits. This is not going to end well, especially after Toby weighs in following a few glasses of chardonnay poolside.

Jeff's emphasized--and loaded--ANYONE ELSE is not referring to Dear Old Shelley Cohen, or even Bobby and Gina. Yeah, he could be referring to John Dill, but I think he somehow found out about Ken Kensington. Probably from Toby after one too many margaritas.

Oh that slippery slope of plot-longing...I refuse to be fooled into thinking that Jeff's question about who else Mary saw in NYC has ANYTHING to do with a new plot. After months of false starts, I will NOT take the bait and imagine that Jeff was intimating anything plot-wise. That might actually make sense, but we know that K. Moy's MO will be a week-long re-cap of Mary's (lack of) adventures with Olive in NYC. Usually Toby would be the lucky one to hear all this, but since it is SOO mild and lacking in drama, I figure we will get Jeff slurping soup and saying "Mmmmm?" and "That so?" and "How exciting!" while Mary REPEATS every detail of her trip over a looonnnng meal at the BumBoat. I figure the most we can hope for is another fish on the wall above Jeff's head.

"Olive is as delightful as ever," meaning NOT AT ALL delightful. Annoying yes, delightful no.

"And her parents were very gracious to me. Of course I saw very little of them because they absented themselves to tee-hee together at the drop of a hat."

Just got caught up on a week's worth of your brilliant Worth words. I'm sure I'm not the first to observe this, but while I was away I re-watched Angela Lansbury in "The Manchurian Candidate" and was reminded what a perfect fit she'd have been for "Mary Worth: The Movie." William Windham could've handled the role of Jeff, I think.

The contortionist positions with which Jeff was carrying Mary's suitcase finally took their toll. Clearly his hand has snapped off, as Mary can be seen holding it in panel 2.
