I can't tell you how much this resembles my life right now. Although, I will say that so far, thanks to Mr Allora, my back is doing okay.
Unlike the Tweedlebeedies (salute to @fauxprof!), I expect the Wanders family took artwork off the walls and moved the furniture too. The Beedies need more guidance in moving.Tommy may have mopped his last floor at Jerry's Sandwich Shop. Maybe HE can take over Ask Wendy. #%$@!Happy Independece Day, everyone!
Looks like all the muscles Tommy built up in washing floors were no help at all. Lift with the knees, Tommy, the knees! Happy Independence Day, Worthiverse family, and may the fourth be with you!
A story straight from the headlines. Tommy will be prescribed powerful painkillers and return to his life of addiction. Mary will use tried-and-true cliches to bring him back to sobriety. (Although I still want to see Dawn and Tommy hook up. That would be awesome.)Happy Fourth, Wanders and everyone!
Harlan will lead him back to recovery through a strict regimen of yoga, root vegetable gardening and parkour. Garden through the pain, Tommy.
Yes, the box was heavy, but it's probably the snakebite causing the pain.
Wow, nothing like chronic back pain to put you in the holiday spirit! Happy Fourth, everyone!Tommy's buffed-up bod continues into the week! YES! Love the snake tattoo! Dawn will *lurve* it! Also, the matchy-matchy look is back! At least for the women in today's strip.
Wow, such un-family friendly talk from Tommy. #%$@! indeed!
These #%$@!boxes made of concrete! Mom, did you really have to take up collecting plutonium as a hobby?
Loving all the comments, wish I had time in the mornings to keep up & participate in real time. Wanders, I hope you're getting settled in & that you can find the important stuff. Happy Independence Day to all!
TUESDAYDigging into my somewhat corroded memory banks, I seem to recall Mr. Allora as a distinguished looking gray haired gentleman. Either he's found the Grecian Formula aisle, or this is Mr. Allora Junior. Anyway, whoever you are, leave the hand truck so we can load Tommy on it and take him to the ER.
@fauxprof, you beat me to both observations. Perhaps "Mr. Allora" is the generic name for the overworked Charterstone factotum who is always at Mary's beck and call. When one collapses, Mary says, "We need another Allora, pronto!" And, it'll be hilarious to see Iris and Mary load Tommy onto that dolly (more fun term than "hand truck") and trundle him into the ER of Mountainview Hospital. That's if a visiting Hannah Dingdon Hastings doesn't run them down in the Charterstone parking lot first.Did we know that the Beedies (and Mary) lived on the first floor? Charterstone apartments seem to change floors at will.Anyone up for a conspiracy theory? Maybe Tommy is faking the back injury.
Hand Truck appears twice today to make up for taking the holiday off (after being pointedly referenced for 4 straight days). Just imagine what kind of shape poor Tommy would be in had he attempted to lift one of the heavier boxes!
And where does Mary get off declaring not only that the move must be postponed but also for how long? Does she know that Tommy will feel better by tomorrow? And since she was so gung ho to help, you would think that she and Iris could handle a few boxes by themselves, especially now that Hand Truck is on the scene.
I predict that Tommy will gimp his way into work and claim a workplace injury. A workers comp disability claim will soon follow.
KitKat wondered about the location of the Beedie's apartment. Last week, when Mary went to visit Iris, the number 4F appeared on Iris' door. And the door opened to a hallway. Five days later, the apartment seems to have magically moved to the first floor.
