Mary Worth 2427

He was in Japan for four months, but it seems he never communicated with his daughter while he was gone. Or his girlfriend. Probably because Japan is so far away. I mean, how could they have possibly communicated? It takes months for a letter to cross the Pacific on a sailing ship.

Wilbur has also regained all the weight he appeared to have lost. Just what was in that casserole, anyway?

So now he's going to talk to Iris, and...Oh no! Not Iris! We're done with Iris! We never want to see Iris again! Aauuugghhh!!!!

Yes, please leave Iris out of it, Wilbur!

That Dawn...always in the last place you look.

But she's never, ever a problem anyway. I'm sure she'll find a nice Older Gentleman to help look after her.

I sure hope that Iris catches Wilbur up on what he's missed!

I don't know whether to be happy that this is the start of a long Wilbur-centric storyline, or upset that it's a way (more likely) to write Wilbur out of the strip.'

(Wilbur is my favorite character.)

So Dawn went to Cathy's house to work on a school project. Anyone new to reading this strip would expect that Dawn is in 6th grade. No, folks, she's been enrolled in the University of Santa Royale and Vinyl Siding Co. for what seems like 14 years.

What a pickle you're in, Wilbur! Maybe you should write to Ask Wendy for advice.

Fauxprof, you nailed it. Anyone but Iris! Or let's all just give in and enjoy this blog on a daily basis: "Mary Worth and Beedie"

Dawn seems to have spent the last few months dipping her hair in black paint.

Wilbur does have his priorities straight - telling Mary first - we must follow the proper protocol at CharterStone.

I'll bet while Wilbur was still scratching his chin, trying to remember what color Dawn's hair was, Mary had already been home, whipped up another casserole to bring over to Iris's apartment, and is now sitting with Iris, pretending to be shocked that Iris hadn't already heard Wilbur's news.

He can start by traveling all the way down the hall to report Survivor Stories about Vicodin addiction.

Aldo Kelrast survived the accident. Let's start the survivor stories with him. Wilber could meet him at Jerrys and get all the dish on stalking Mary since the accident while he stuffs his face.

THURSDAY
I can't believe how Wilbur plumped up so quickly! What's his secret?
How does Iris read her smartphone when she's lost her eyes?
Will Iris and Wilbur meet at Jerry's sandwich shop and have another angry argument in front of all the customers? That would be fun!
And, how does Wilbur secretly arrive from Japan in such a way that MARY WORTH is the first person to see him and talk to him about his "plans"? Wouldn't he have asked Dawn or Iris to pick him up at the Santa Royale airport?
So many questions!

I hope Wilbur decides to bring Iris and boring Tommy with him as he rides off into the sunset.

Dawn probably won't mind when she comes home from her playdate and finds that she has a whole apartment to herself.

The relationship between Wilbur and Iris seems casual to the point of being platonic. I don't think she even noticed he was gone, let alone care that he's leaving again. Although I've got to agree with DWET that a big blowup public argument between them would be awesome! Heck, the way things are going in the Worthiverse, a kittycat washing its ears would be exciting.

Iris uses the Generic texting app. And, she should know it's not good news since Wilbur didn't include a smiley emoji. Cue the "Dragnet" theme: "Dum de dum dum!
