Well, nothing happened with the talking horses, or the pineapples, but while we were distracted by the romance of Jamaica, I missed an exciting new development. Last year, North America Syndicate relinquished power to King Features Syndicate, resulting in protest from Susan Sarandon during the Worthy Awards. But ever since Derek kicked down the bathroom door, it appears that North America Syndicate has also done some butt kicking and taken control of the Worthiverse once again, kicking King Features Syndicate off its gilded throne. It's like we're making North America Syndicate, Inc., great again! Or at least good.

Today's Boldface Haiku is titled "Derek Has Had Enough Of This Hen Party".
Horses, white sand!
Wonderful!
Good Hope Plantation!
Long! Lie down!
(I'm cigarette!)
Sampling the pineapple took a toll on Mary all right. As others have remarked, the cruise seems to be accelerating the aging process.
Since Karen Moy inserted more product placement, I had to Google Good Hope Plantation. Visit Jamaica.com notes the spectacular sunrises as a "Don't Miss" feature: "Few words actually manage to describe a sunrise at Good Hope with any accuracy. 'Breathtaking', 'spectacular' and 'awe-inspiring' come to mind." KM might add "enjoyable," "good," and "nice."
So Derek is going to smoke but the horses aren't? Oh, wait. That's Katie and Toby.
I may be reading this story wrong, but it seems that Derek really wants a cigarette.
@KitKat--LOL! Certainly the Travel Board at VisitJamaica.com will want to contact KM and pick her brain re: her vast store of Evocative Adjectives.
When Katie eventually gets wise to the fact that Derek has been sneaking smokes (I wonder where he's hiding them), she'll go ballistic, which is the worst thing she could do. That'll only drive him to want more.
Some understanding, patience, and encouragement would be a much better reaction. Enter Saint Mary.
On the other hand, if she catches him smoking AND flirting with She Who Must Not Be Named, she'll go double-ballistic, and Mary will really have her work cut out for her.

Am I the only one who finds it funny that one of the top Jamaican cigarette brands is Craven?
How's that for truth in marketing!
One poofy ride on a beach and now he's Marlboro Man. Derek, who quit smoking, didn't pack any cigarettes and I doubt if he's bought any. He couldn't even pull the trigger to buy tacky caps at Sovenir Shop. No, the only source of natural dewormer on this ship is Esme. Just watch her master plan unfold.
I think if Wanders adds "smoke" to his list, it will surely blow "enjoy, good, love, and nice" out of the water.
As I was reading today's strip and Derek's incessant carping about smoking, I thought of the Bugs Bunny cartoon where he's with the two guys on the deserted island who keep imagining the other is food (hot dogs and hamburgers). I imagined Derek doing the same thing except Katie, Mary and Toby are cigarettes.
