Mary Worth 2686

Maybe Ned knows that his wife will never spot him out with Dawn because she hates French food. Or maybe she is fluent in French and would never eat at any of the many French restaurants in Santa Royale: The Lying Snail, the Love Dog, or The Pig - unless the latter is a really excellent French BBQ joint.

Moving on to some very exciting news, look what I got: A Star Wars trading card!! I am super stoked!

But I wonder who the artist could be? Let's just turn it over and see!

June Brigman, you are awesome, and I'm so glad you came our way.

What an acquisition, Wanders! Medical Assistant Jared would be overcome with envy. I wish June would cut loose and draw her idea of that lying snail instead of simply some fancy-schmancy script.

What restaurant will Ned take Dawn to next? "The Disgusting Adulterer Afflicted with an STD"? And will tonight be the night he suggests going to the Weston apartment?

Dawn's eyes are creepy - they look like they're electrified.

The Lying Snail! Madame Moy, I salute you. This is the most delectably ominous subtle foreshadowing since Kelrast acronyms. For their next date (and with Dawn's total cluelessness there will be one) I nominate La Perdrix Adultère (the Adulterous Partridge).

I'm really curious now to see June's comic strip in National Geographic World. No trading cards inspired by that I'm afraid.

JB has been a breath of fresh air, or at least a new musty breeze from opening a long closed vault.

Today's strip is like watching a bad, old horror movie: "Don't go in there! Stay out of the woods! Avoid the basement." In this case I want to yell "use the crystal ball on the table dimwit!"

Today's Boldface Haiku is titled "Maybe Dawn Needs To Download A Translation App Or Something Because She's Not Picking Up Any Drapeaux Rouges".

Look, ask.
(Handsome...In love...really!)
Dawn?

Poor dumb Dawn, so smitten, besotted, and pixilated.

Honey, invest in a French-English dictionary, and if your next dinner date is at Le Rat de Fraude, it's time to bail.

I vote for "Grenouille Philogene".

There's no way KM is coming up with these restaurant names. That's all June, being subversively hilarious. (Even "Bagle" may have been intentional.)

I usually just lurk, but after Delilah expressed dismay at not seeing the Google Doodle of Mr. Trololo that Dave in Parma mentioned (neither did I; they didn't show it in the US!), once I found the link I figured I'd share it here:

As for restaurant names, I vote Le Étalon de Salope (unless someone else already did).
