Mary Worth 2954

Hopefully, when that weight comes crashing back down, they'll both be still so committed to sobriety and accountability that it won't drag them down to the bottom of the beautiful lagoon. And hopefully, when it does, we won't have to watch.

KitKat called it yesterday. Mary's taking her victory lap -- literally.

But Toby will be furious when she finds out that Mary is seeing other power walkers.

Today's Boldface Haiku is titled

"Love Means Dumping Your Stuff Onto Someone Else".

Concerned relationship. Is?
Great! Past...Weight's lifted!
Accepts best.
Keeper!

After Several Weeks ??? !!!

The pacing of this strip is erratic and bludgeons anyone seeking actual entertainment.

Can we please get over to Italy?
Dawn and Harlan have taken a side trip to Pamplona - where Harlan uses his parkour skills to back-flip over an oncoming bull. Give June something fun to draw.

"Several" is certainly an understatement.

Does this end the Beedie saga for all time, or are we due for another round of May and September (i.e., Zak and Iris)? Surely June is tired of drawing the Tweedlebeedies with their matching haircuts and yellow-orange color jobs. (Miss Clairol Labradoodle tint).

"Miss Clairol Labradoodle tint" - hahahahahahahahahaha!! @fauxprof, your rapier is indeed sharp!

@Steve G, picturing Harlan back flipping over a charging bull made me guffaw. I bet June would love to draw that. It would be a Panel of the Year contender for sure. That being said, I hope the next "plot" contains neither Westons nor Beedies. Give it a rest, KM!

Yes - Harlan trying parkour over an enraged bull would be great.

Brady was awfully quick to "accept" Tommy after he mentioned the dealer thing. Did she not want to know exactly what it was he was dealing? Selling a little bit of pot is somewhat different from dealing meth that was tainted with who-knows-what (which is what Tommy was dealing). Prison is pretty harsh too - doesn't she want to know exactly how he ended up there?

Please. Let this be the end of Wilbur and the Beedies forever. I don't care Toby and Professor Beached Whale or Tummy Brain girl. Anybody but the Westons and Beedies.
Wilbur and the Beedies would be a good name for a bad band.

Whew! Everyone is exhibiting their best Monday snark! Nance, the haiku title covers SOOO much here. Thank you, thank you! Miss Clairol Labradoodle tint! Wilbur and the Beedies! et. al!! I now predict that tomorrow's strip will feature Mary talking about what a good job Tommy did picking up her spilled groceries! I can hear her saying "Tommy's got a bright future in groceries!" already...

Ignoring just how doomed 'real life' Brandy and Tommy would play out, I'll go along with Moy for giggles. From that perspective, I'm coming around on this relationship. As nearly as I can tell, they are conventionally attractive young people (well, yes, the hair) with the personalities of well used dish rags. They'll do great sitting around talking about nothing for years to come while blowing the best years of their lives as grocery store clerks.

Is anybody ask Tommy and Brandy how they plan to live on two entry-level wages? I think Brandy will launch a self improvement campaign. After she becomes a CEO she'll ask Mary if it would appropriate to ditch the loser.

@ Tim, excellent point. Figure Tommy already lives with his mom, so Brandy might as well move in with them to really save on rent. They'll have to dodge Mr. Allora but, so long as Mary can claim credit for things, she'll smooth out any issues with the condo board.

That arrangement will be about as realistic and healthy as anything else depicted in this strip.

Parkour, indeed.

“A keeper!”

On vacation in western Maine on a Po d. Wish I could post a pic.

When we were shown our house (20years ago) our agent said “Its a keeper!” Now my porches need to be redone and the old ceilings are peeling.

Just foreshadowing

Mary is as perceptive as ever! She's right! With his past and his personality, Tommy definitely needs a keeper. And I'm pleased that Mary has given her stamp of approval for Brandy to fill that position.
