It's a hamburger joint. Who do you think she's going to see there? Duh.
Wait a minute... Is the Estelle story still going on? I mean, Estelle really drove home the point that her Silverdater was not good looking... Could it be??
Too bad Mary wasn’t drinking a double mocha latte. A spit take is always funnier than a double take. And yeah, that silhouette is vaguely familiar...
What she sees is Jeff (Looking Good in Blue but Not Having Model Looks Not By a Long Shot) out on a date for falafel burgers with Estelle at Delicious Grill, after having finally tired of decades of platonic hell with Mary. Moy could never manage such a twist but that would be worth a double if not a triple take!
Could it be that her not so "beautiful man" is who we have been thinking it is all along. I was wondering why Estelle would not dare mention his name. KM, you sly one, giving us all these hints" likes to sing, not that great looking. eats mayonnaise sandwiches (okay, maybe not the mayonnaise sandwich part). He'll be fighting Libby for the scraps that fall on the floor.
My first thought is that it's Wilbur and Iris. Iris has that little hair flip thing going; Estelle doesn't. (Wilbur's fat silhouette is unmistakable.)Besides, if it was Estelle and Wilbur, wouldn't she have mentioned to Mary that Mr. New Man lives right here at Charterstone? I know this strip continually stretches logic, but that would have had to have come up, no? My money's on Iris, who I assume got the ol' heave-ho from Zak. BTW, I love how Mary snoops in restaurant windows as she's passing by.-- Scottie McW.
It’s Alfred Hitchcock, making one of his classic cameo appearances.
I smell a nautically themed blue shirt for Jeff, which is at least more debatable than who Mary sees in this "double take". If it's who we think it is, Estelle neglected to mention that they have something else in common besides a love of music. They have both been consigned to bowling and hamburger dates due to their mutual substantial loss of funds to conniving scammers.
It suddenly occured to me that this could be Arthur, or whatever he's calling himself this time.Which would be kind of exciting, so nevermind.
My money's on Wilbur. Though the actual "original Arther" possibility has me intrigued. Along with "Alfred Hitchcock in one of his classic cameo appearances."
It's Wilbur! It's Wilbur!!! Who else likes to sing to inanimate objects? But if it is Wilbur, how big is Charterstone that those two haven't met before?
Libby is a demon cat out to destroy Jeff's relationships, unless Mary beats her to it.
Today's Boldface Haiku is titled"A Baby Thinks About Cookie Monster".(Blue. Nice...?)
@Scottie--I was thinking Wilbur and Iris, too. That is a definite cause for Meddling, not to mention Concern, since Mary would have been Out Of The Loop on that whole deal.@KitKat--LOL re: Alfred Hitchcock. (Or do you mean Elfred Titchcock?)
FWIW I'm confident that's Wilbur in profile. I'm guessing he's having lunch with Iris, although I have no idea what any sentient being would find attractive about Wilbur.
Love your BFH, Nance, but I couldn't help wondering what you would have done with the sentence "She does a double take at what she sees!". Since when does a sentence with an "!" NOT warrant bold face? KM needs to provide you with more material.
I don't know about you guys but I really don't want another Wilbur story. He's so repulsive and such a loser. Moy has so many other characters to work with (Dr. Drew, Adrian Corey, Ted "what a character" Miller); why does she going back to the (polluted) Wilbur well?
Mary sees her own reflection in the window — and clearly, she thinks she’s never looked more beautiful.
Why does Mary have a hamburger on her back? Not that it doesn’t look good, but...
Please let it be steak loving homeless guy.
If it's Wilbur and Estelle, we're gonna need this prog rock jam added to the Charterstone Jukebox: https://youtu.be/Po7POlg7SDs
I was so hoping for Jeff, but yeah, looks like Wilbur. Well, this might be fun when Dawn gets back from "beautiful Italy".
