Mary Worth 3573

This month, my wife and I have been watching all the Marvel Avengers movies in "time-line" order. We've always been a bit confused by the Avenger movies because we missed a few, but now everything is coming together for us. We are over halfway through, and we may even accomplish our goal to finish by the end of the month. We can LEARN FROM THE AVENGERS! One thing I've learned is that it doesn't hurt to repeat key plot points for those of us who missed something the first time. Mary Worth has learned this lesson well.

Good point, Wanders! I believe we all missed the MW strip that showed Mr. Allora unloading the moving van containing Eve’s furniture. Saul, however, didn’t miss a trick. He was hiding in the shrubbery and immediately caught sight of the huge safe that Eve has cleverly disguised as an end table for that ugly lamp. This explains why we’ve witnessed the change from cranky old Saul to sweet, lovable Saul. And why his old gang used to call him “Windfall Saul.”

People who read Mary Worth only on Sundays missed Max taking (deflecting?) Gary’s bullet intended for Eve. I expected a rehash of that today instead of more blah blah blah about dogs living in the moment.

When Saul says, “Live life with Joy every day without looking back,” he means Joy Jorgenson, the widow one floor up who invites him for dinner more regularly than Eve or Mary and who is a much better cook and pastry chef.

Wanders, if by "repeat key plot points" you mean "beat us over the head with them until we're senseless," then yes, MW truly is the Avenger.

Darn, I wish we could edit our comments. But since we can't, I'm taking a do-over:

Wanders, if by "repeat key plot points" you mean "beat us over the head with them until we're senseless" (which, of course, you do), then MW is not just an Avenger, she's the Avenger de Tutti Avengi.

(Comment in haste, repent at leisure.)

@ HelenClark. Good catch! I was wondering about that end table too.

I looked up Roger Caras. He wrote several books about animals. I like two other quotes of his.

"If you don't own a dog, at least one, there is not necessarily anything wrong with you, but there may be something wrong with your life."

"Some of our greatest historical and artistic treasures we place in museums; others, we take for walks."

If Scottie McW. can post a do-over, then so can I.

Saul's old gang used to call him: Steal-it-All Saul.
