Mary Worth 3576

Max, realizing that Charterstone is improperly grounded, is up on the roof with Mr. Allora installing a lightning rod in a thunderstorm. He has saved Eve's life once again.

Calm down everyone! Max hasn’t bolted outside because he’s afraid of thunder. Not at all. He’s just doing his retriever thing and chasing after Eve’s sofa pillows that were sucked outside into the vortex. Good call, Wanders!

Dachshunds were bred to hunt badgers. More attackers than trackers, but Greta always gets her Max.

Actually Max has probably already been flattened by the truck backing up to empty the dumpsters. It's just that I've never had the chance to use vortex in a sentence before.

I’m still hoping that Mary in her nightgown will figure into this. It’s possible that Max, who is a bad swimmer, has fallen into the Charterstone pool.

Max must have had experience as a first-responder; while others run inside to escape the storm, he rushes outside to confront it.

Seriously, I don't know a lot about dog behavior, but is this something a real dog would do? Isn't it more likely that they would jump up in their master's lap for comfort or try to hide under a bed or something?

BTW, I chuckled reading the little box at the top of panel 1 that says the doorbell "rings," but then it buzzes instead. There is some serious disconnecct between Karen and June.

I like how her phone charger is still plugged in. That is one loooooong cord.

Yay everyone! Great comments. Who knew Saul was so busy he hardly gets the chance to sit down?

Scottie McW. - I've had many, many dogs in my long life. Take it from me, dogs rarely do what would make sense. They much prefer doing whatever will cause their caregivers the most anxiety, trouble, grief, mess, and expense.

Rather than complain that your dog is gone, you could go looking for it instead?
