"I feel a little guilty for dumping my ex so I could see you. I mean, we'd only dated seriously for two years, but still, I can't help feeling partially responsible."

Jess forgot to tell Jared that he's wonderful today, and he'll be even more wonderful tomorrow.
No wonder there isn't a lot of foot traffic at Nearby Park. Besides transparent fish and giant clams in the pond, the grass is striped with who knows what. Approach at your own risk.
“She thought I wasn’t enough! Can you believe she once was brazen enough to look at another man in public? And when I invited her to eat Kelk Loaf in the hospital cafeteria she said she was tired, and went out to gorge on salad and dance with a friend instead. Princess Leia would never do anything like that!”
(Jess backs slowly away and takes the first shortcut back to the Rental House).
Great comments! I like that "synergistic moping" idea. Perhaps the DSM 6 will add it to the next version of it's standard classification of mental disorders. Definition: "a high degree of concentrated self-pity, often experienced by characters in the Mary Worth comic strip."

I love this story. Can't wait to see the two of them achieve synergistic moping for all their friends and family to enjoy.
Jared: My ex-girlfriend didn't think that I was 'eye candy'.
Jessd: Oh, I disagree. Goobers and Nerds spring to mind.

Jess lost her sunglasses
Frank, I think Jess just took off her sunglasses temporarily, to see if her swollen-shut eye would open in the sun.
