Mary Worth 151

"First, the paintings on the wall and all the furniture began moving around the room, and then the lamp behind me began getting bigger, and bigger and bigger. It scared the living daylights out of me. I never went back to Cathy's spooky house again."

"I was unsure so I followed the others' example"
What is the point of evolving consciousness and the capacity for independent reasoning if you are simply going to slavishly mimic the behaviour of others?

I am keeping a lid on my building excitement. It seems as though there is about to be a major revelation but this storyline has already teased us then pulled back from the brink several times.

Is God going to speak directly to Little Mary and command her to Go Forth And Meddle? Will Cathy's family turn out to be satanists?

Mom's "oremus" posture is provocative to be sure. Maybe this plotline will turn out to be a fascinating exploration of liturgical and devotional practices and their use among varying Christian denominations. Or maybe not. Is Mary going to be born again? Are they Jehovah's witnesses? I wish I could fall asleep and wake up tomorrow and find out!

"Then something happened that would change my life forever."

Maybe she learned to make mush casseroles, which later became her trademark.

I know I'm sitting on the edge of my seat waiting for the Great Turning Point to be revealed.

I do hope that Flashback Mary didn't have embarrassing gastric distress during the prayer time, which would cause Cathy's family to throw her out on the street. That would be hearbreaking.
