Mary Worth 413

I don't mind that the story has come to a jolting halt, like a skate blade hitting a piece of shag carpet that somebody tossed out on the lake, because the Free Skate promises to be as action packed as the "Ice Capades Presents Indiana Jones on Ice!" What am I looking forward to the most? Finding out what song Lynn skates to so we can add it to the Charterstone Jukebox.

However, since our story's present dialogue has failed to sustain itself these last few weeks, this might be a good time to remind everyone that there are only four more days to vote for the Worthy Awards! Some of the categories are extremely close!

Today's Full Strip.

Why can't Frank coach Lynn during the free skate? Because there isn't any coaching during the free skate. A quick word or two before the program and that's it. This is the skating game, not the football game.

Of course Frank coaches. He scremas, he yells. He jumps up and down. He even throws things. How else is Lynn expected to keep it tight? Frank isn't touted for nothing.

Come on, you know Frank will be calling in the skate moves as Lynn works through the Free Style Program. Anon is right, it's gotta be tight and how else will Lynn know just when to pull (push?) it tight without Frank's valuable coaching skills fully employed?

I hope Lynn realizes that she actually misses Frank's screaming at her, and she ends up screwing up as soon as she steps onto the ice. In an effort to save things, Mary swipes Lynn's skates and performs the routine herself. "No way did I do all this meddling for nothing!" Mary thinks smugly as she effortlessly performs a quadruple lutz or whatever they're called.

Ah, Frank and Lynn. Or as I like to call them, "Tout n' Pout".

"Don't yell at me from rinkside, dad. Don't throw things, don't criticize, don't make faces. If you could stop breathing that would be great, too."

The more I think about this, the more this storyline has moved into the surreal. The day of the free skate, Lynn would have skated in the morning, and then been massaged, done visualization, and perhaps had a session with a sports therapist (who would have had Frank forcibly removed ages ago). Then makeup, hair, etc.

BaHa: Since when has a Mary Worth stroy line not been surreal?
