Mary Worth Adventures #431

So, Mary has just spent the last 15 minutes telling Jeff the entire Frank and Lynn Griffin story. If only Karen Moy had been so succinct. Now Jeff seems to have some news of his own. And we'll have to wait 24 hours to find out what it could be. How will I get anything done today?

wanders--

you are SO right! Jeff's final line is about the most intriguing thing Karen Moy has ever written. I may not sleep tonight, wondering about fathers and daughters--who could it be?

Please, just don't let it be Jeff and his illegitimate Vietnamese daughter (from his days in the war). Unless its Jeff's illegitimate Vietnamese daughter who has become romantically involved with his legitimate American son, Drew Corey. Wouldn't that be an interesting challenge for Mary and her powers!?

Has anyone else had "I Wanna Be Free," as interpreted by the Monkees' song stylist, Davy Jones, on an endless mental tape loop since we arrived at the rink?

In panel one, Mary seems to be busy catching up on her neighbors mail...

what IS it with these people and their ever-present hot drinks? I swear 70% of the panels feature coffee cups.

I can't believe Mary transported back to Santa Royale so quickly. I was convinced we would have to endure a week of strips showing Mary boarding the plane and reflecting smugly on her great accomplishments on behalf of the future of America's Olympic gold medal count.

I knew there had to be some other factor to the Camerons' relationship - especially after Ian's award-winning belly shot. Um, gross.

I agree, it must be the Westons--something's up!

By the way I see Mary is wearing a perky pink top with the letter "M" for "Mary" on it! She's feeling so chipper today, she's probably wearing her day-of-the-week panties as well.

Robert--

I'm getting the feeling that even the clever Ms. Moy just can't stand her writing. She gets tired of the story lines and precipitously brings them to conclusion and moves on to the next one as quickly as possible. I honestly think we are within two years of her abandoning story lines mid-narrative because she gets bored with where the awful writing is going.

Unfortunately for all of us, it will never dawn on K. Moy that the jarring cuts from scene to scene, story to story, are her fault. She'll just keep cursing under her breath that they just don't write good soap comics like they used to. Sad ending to a promising career.
