Ohhhh Wilburrr, don't look so irritated...a person can eat a cornbread muffin "dinner" just about ANYwhere, as long as you're careful with the crumbs! I can tell this is going to be an awesome storyline, lol!
What a gret segue to a new story line featuring our old friends Wilbur and Dawn who have technology issues of their own. Do you suppose that Dawn has developed an online addiction which requires privacy? Damn that interweb.
Hmmmm, maybe Dr. Jeff needs to point out to Mary that if she had a Kindle reading device she can read all her favorite romance and porn novels without anyone having to see the covers - that might change her tune!
And poor Wilbur, can't he see that Dawn just needs a little alone-time with her electronic device? Maybe he needs a device of his own......
Hello to all Mary Worth fans! I just stumbled upon Mary Worth and Me, and feel like I've found a long-lost friend. For years, I've daily checked Mary's strip and asked, "Why do I care?" After all, Mary is a smug busybody, the stories are boring and predictable, and the art laughable. And yet - my day's not complete without a dose of Mary. Now I've found a support group that understands my fixation. Thanks for belly laughs and dead-on comments. This site makes my day (even if it is newfangled technology)!
Welcome, Peggy! None of us really understands why we care. Really, we are intent upon finding the secret meaning behind the strip, that would explain its continued existence in the face of its apparent boringness.
Yay, Wilbur is back! I guess he's not trolling Facebook for long lost love children, huh? Hmm...Maybe Dawn has found love on Match.com? I wonder what product or website will be plugged next?
Maybe Moy has taken to heart all our complaining about previous strips's strident attempts to resist ever using a brand name (EnormousShop.com, anyone?), and now she's actively pursuing licensing deals with a variety of products.
Well, I don't think Moy thought it would take this long to get the product endorsement permission. Now we can finally move on to the REAL storyline!
And what do y'all think it is? My prediction is that it is about modern "devices" taking away from real face-to-face family time and real face-to-face communication with each other. Internet, cell phones, iPods, video games, and -- heaven forbid -- Kindles, are eroding our social interactions.
Pandagrandma@7.01p - your mention of "social interactions" reminded me of a United Airlines commercial from 1989 - back when we only had phones and faxes - that I'm linking to.

It's a classic and reminds that only 20 years ago faxes and phones were considered cutting into "face time" in both business and personal life.
I hope you enjoy it. It's one of my favorite commercials, even after all these years.
Yes, this is going to be a moral tale about the evils of technology. People are turning to facebook and their friends for companionship instead of spending time with their Dear Old Dads.
They are reading on their Kindles when they should be helping Mary juggle those coffee cups. Look! She's now spilled it all in her lap, and has even managed to get coffee grounds on her pillow. I blame the Kindle and technology in general for this disaster.
excited that wilber is back and dawn is still wearing her purple clothes.i knew delialah having a baby would be too boring a story even by worth standards but glad to see wilber back.
Wilbur is pretty good at Internet. I suspect he will now unleash a virus on Santa Royale that will annihilate everyone's Electronic Reading Devices. The sacred dinner hour will now be spent talking to his daughter...about how much she misses her iPad.
Welcome Peggy! We're a pretty nice bunch. Three bits of advice. 1) Don't eat the salmon squares, and 2) If you meet a blonde named Jill, cross the street, and 3) Never check in to Mountview Hospital!
Actually, Wilbur is pretty hypocritical if he's getting mad at Dawn for holing up in her room with her dinner and attached to her technological device. Remember how often he shunned Dawn to sit in front of his computer and dine on ham sandwiches?
Peggy, glad you're joining us! One more bit of advice - Do NOT suggest to Mary that she buy an electronic reading device, especially if she's carrying hot cups of coffee!!!

Mary really means it. Not just "no thanks," but "no thanks" with jazz hands!
Mary reminds me of Jerry Seinfeld saying, "Good luck with alllll that!"

Yes, welcome, Peggy. I'll echo birdie@3.21p. None of us knows why we're here and why the Worthiverse is so interesting to us.

Welcome, Peggy Olson!
Welcome, Peggy.
Every day I ask my husband, "Did you read Mary Worth today?" And every day he stares at me blankly, wondering what's wrong with me.
That's why I love this blog so much.

Wilbur and Dawn??? I did not see that coming.

And NEVER wear a swimsuit to the pool parties.

Welcome, Peggy Olson, to our therapy group.
Welcome Peggy!
We are all closet MW readers. I echo anonymous @5:53... Everyone but us thinks we have lost our minds.
Lucky for me, I do have a few friends who also read MW for the humor and ridiculous, boring stories, relishing each opportunity to take a snipe.
Happy reading.. and commenting!
