Mary Worth 976

I find that the best way to lose weight is to sit in my car and adjust the seat so that my huge gut is pressed through the steering wheel like Play-Dough. Yes, it obstructs my ability to steer the car, but that's what makes it so motivating.

Wow, Wilbur is ROCKIN the sweater vest!

Is that KIT the Knight Rider car in the second panel? Can't be, Kit would never go out with Whitewalls on the front and a pair of cheap Goodyears on the back.

Destination? "You'll see". Of course she will, Wilbur. You should have locked her in the trunk with David Hasselhoff.

They're either heading off for that Mary Worth intervention, or going someplace scarily romantic, judging from that besotted look on Wilbur's face? At least we can thank our lucky stars that we have fast-forwarded to Saturday in Santa Royale, and have been spared the buildup about the outing on Twitter.

But did Dawn tweet about the outing? And will their apartment be robbed while they're gone? We haven't yet explored this danger from Twitter.

I still think someone needs to call the authorities. "You'll see?"

Intervention or mob slaying in the woods, either with the same soul-killing result!

Perhaps the story will cut over to the honeymooning couple before this one gets really ugly. Spare us, Moy!

@heydave 8:20. Do you think Wilbur is actually Tony Soprano? Wow, that gets me to thinking ... fat ... balding ... "You'll see!" It all adds up now!

@Steven W4922, I think Wilbur just had some crazy custom work where he chopped the back off a Testarossa and slapped it onto his Buick. In the 80s.

Maybe they're going to one of those diet/health spas like Canyon Ranch in Arizona. It would certainly make Wilbur's statement (and thought) true - 'It'll be good for you (and us)'. What could be better for the two of them than weight loss??

Ooh baby! Varied landscapes, awkward hand gestures, ominous dialogue, thought bubbles sporting both bold AND italic emphasis, dangerous cliffs ahead!

Fasten your seat belts, ladies and gents, it's going to be a wild ride!

I've just been perusing the past 7 or 8 strips, and I've noticed that the light source that makes Dawn's hair appear 10 shades lighter on the top is ALWAYS the same--in the middle of the night in her darkened room, outdoors, in the kitchen, in the car, wherever. Or am I the last to know that Dawn has the world's worst highlights?

Well, I sure don't think they're going to the zoo, nor to a matinee of "The Princess Bride." What about Heaven's Orchard Resort in northern Santa Royale? Just a guess.

This story line is just too weird for me!

@Syndi - This one is mild compared to some of the other bizarre options.

Me? I am waiting for Wilbur to have a nervous breakdown when the road t's out to an intersection with a direction sign that shows the way to either "Not My Son Pier" or in the other direction - The Betty Ford Clinic.

I lived through numerous mind-numbing stories in "Mary Worth," but this one is seriously wearing away my patience. I'm bored out of my mind. It's making me long for that days of Toby regrouting her bahtroom.

"I'm taking you to a rehabilitation clin- er, I mean, the mall." (Whew! Nice save!)

There's nothing like a romantic weekend getaway to put life back into a father-daughter relationship.
Oh puke...

I wonder if they'll show up at the same resort where Scott & Adrian are staying? Nothing more fun than staying at a honeymoon resort with your sandwich obsessed father!

OK, Moy has to be writing this stuff as an inside joke. Today there's a surprise in the trunk and it's for some "family fun".

There are just too many subtle nuances in this for it not to be a joke of some sort. I mean, c'mon, if your job was to draw Wilbur and his daughter who looks like Shemp, wouldn't you be snickering?

I'm pretty excited, b/c for Wilbur to be sportin' that vest (is it leather?) he must be taking her someplace really hip, like to a karaoke bar! I'm sure Dawn appreciates how "kool"her dad is dressed! Maybe he'll get up there and sing "Copacobana" or "Feelings" to her! And buy her a drink with a little umbrella in it!

I think Wilbur is taking Dawn to a "Daughter Park," where Dawn can run and play, in person, with other daughters, enjoy the great outdoors, and have real "human" interactions.
