Oh my gosh! Mary Worth is REAL??? I had no idea. This is horrible. Just horrible! Maybe I should just go fly a kite in virtual mode!
By the way, Toots McGee, thanks for recommending "Kites are Fun." You may not realize this, but it's been on the Charterstone Jukebox for two years. However, today, I know that it finally belongs. I've moved it to the top of the stack.

Wait a minute...they're virtual, but Wilbur is complaining about the virtual world...so Wilbur thinks they're real...but WE'RE real...maybe we are the virtual world for Wilbur and Dawn. OK, who's been getting Dawn's tweets around here??!!
Holding on to her kite string, one could argue that, ironically, Dawn is still "online!"
Hey, what? I can't make a corny joke? We've seen nothing but dullness with a side of mayonaise from Moy and Giella for how long now?
I hope they stay in the park for a few weeks and run into (maybe literally because they keep looking at their smallish kites) some of the more interesting characters we haven't seen in a while. Oh, wouldn't that be wonderful?
"Dawn still online"--good one Shmoopie, l0l!
I tried the virtual kite game and was so terrible at it now my self-esteem is in tatters and I have nothing to tweet about.
No, this virtual kite flying is "not for me". Why, I don't even feel like "checking my online accounts" now!
What's the weird syncronized kite dance that Wilbur and Dawn are doing in panel three?
Dawn is so busy gazing adoringly at Wilbur that she hasn't noticed her kite is about to crash into some rocks. Bummer! I hope she brought along her cell phone so she'll have something to do for the rest of the afternoon.
That's pretty deep thinking...for WIlbur. Is he as high as a kite? (Sorry, I couldn't resist.)
And whoever commented yesterday about addictions being cured with one trivial episode was right. I think Dawn's e-diction is going to take LOTS of kite flying to cure. Lots. Wake me up when this story is over.
I can't wait to see Dawn's twitter when she gets home. "lamo father made me fly freaking kite today! i spit in his ham sandwich LOL"
Hey Wanders,
Thanks for moving the song back to the top. I can't remember if I noticed that on the jukebox before. But that's neither here nor there. This song is perfect. The more I think about, the more I see the Free Design as sharing many of the traits of Mary Worth, the comic strip. I've played the Free Design for people who couldn't take it, who dismissed the music as cloying and precious. People probably think it's just another silly thing that I follow "ironically", just like Mary Worth. But I think there's something undeniably compelling there, just as I think that the Moy and Giella period of Mary Worth has a lasting value. I love the fun that it inspires and the way it makes so many people crazy and causes them to think outside the box to try and explain it or speculate on what's really happening. I love smallish horses and grey bound books, too.
Was expecting "Let's Go Fly a Kite" from Mary Poppins. Mary Poppins and Mary Worth seem to exist in the same sense of "reality."
My 6 year old commented after reading this "I bet Dawn Wishes she were back on-line. Even he knows!
(yes he reads it while wearign his Mary Worth "You Look like you Could Use Some Advice" t-shirt from Cafe Press)
