Mary Worth 1,098

Even though my heart was broken, I was so excited to visit Bobby at his tree and tell him that my father had witnessed a gruesome mob-related killing and we were joining the witness protection program and that we would be living in Santa Royale, California, and changing our name to Baroni. We couldn't keep in touch for safety reasons, but he could always look up at the moon and know that I'd be looking at the same moon and thinking of his deflated basketball.

Bobby's posture is that of one who has just wet his pants....

Wait...although bobby DID wet his pants!...

So a careless, dumb remark by an old strange biddy about "dodging a bullet" triggered this debilitating retrospect of this inane life, revealing the owner to be a dysfunctional ponytail who can't get over "true love" at age 13?

No, I am still asleep and having a protracted... deeply protracted, nightmare.

Why is she holding her hands up in surrender? Is she scared of him? Did Bobby do the killing? He looks penitant. Why can't they just forgive him and go on with their lives?

Gina looks like she's about to leap onto Bobby - could that be what he's so dejected about? And why the heck is she so happy?

Yeah, she sure does look happy for someone going into the WPP and will never see him again.

Does the artwork ever match the dialog?

The setting for the tearful farewell looks more like Little House on the Prairie than New York City. I didn't get the impression that the Baroni's lived that close to Central Park!

Thank you, Judith. I noticed the same thing. Not that this story isn't riveting, but those New York rocks, and the grassy field they sit in, look just like the rocks and field near the Charterstone pool. In California.

I imagine that Moy, having noticed that Drew and Liza positioned themselves in the bustling metropolis of Santa Royale, went to the trouble of writing a story set in New York. Gina's goodbye scene should be taking place on the corner of "you complete me" and "we need a weekend away". This place is where I expect to see Wilbur and Dawn flying kites.

@ duckduckgoose - or the place where Wilbur frolics about with his faux son, Kurt Evans!!

What is with the jazz hands in this pathetic excuse for a storyline?

I think that Bobby, crushed by Gina's abandoning him, will become a con man roaming the bad streets of America trying to weasel people out of their hard-earned money, including $50K from Adrian, who could really use a bouncy ponytail with a completely straight edge.

His alias will be, of course, Ted Confey.

My guess is that the mob will find Gina and shoot at her, but miss and hit Bobby instead. Talk about dodging a bullet!

And just to think that after we endure the tireless story about Bobby and her father, we'll have to hear about Gina and her mother.

My word was "foradoe," which is something that one would write on a gift tag for Bambi. Or Bambi's mother. (Again, talk about dodging a bullet!!!)

There are two Gina Baronis on Facebook and a couple on LinkedIn. The hit men shouldn't have too much trouble finding her.

Gah! Too much work! Thanks everyone for providing me with micro-breaks full of laughter these last few days. I LOVE this blog and can't get enough of all you wacky people on it!

Does anyone have a phone number for the New York City mob? I want to call and tell them where they can find Gina Baroni. If we're lucky, a stray bullet will hit Mary and put an end to this misery.

James in ND: you're right! This is only the preamble to the MAIN story. (Head desk. Head desk.) I think we can finally discount any 9/11 connection to this storyline, because there's no way we'll get anywhere near that kind of plot progression by then.
