Mary Worth 1,112

I had a dream last night myself. I dreamed that an ostrich worked at 7-Eleven and sold me a Slurpee. I'm sure there's a lot of truth in my dream.

In yesterday's comments, long time MW&M reader made a very perceptive comment on why Karen Moy has used the surname Black twice within one year. Read it here.

Here at Diner we’re stuck in an endless “Groundhog Day” loop, in which Mary stares out into space, doesn’t make eye contact, and mouths promides she found in fortune cookies at Chinese Restaurant. “Where there is love there can be no fear.” “Be prepared for any outcome.” And today: “Pay attention to dreams. Truths may exist there.”

All we are missing is a Chinese gong, to mark the wisdom of her pronouncements.

Gina with all the caffeine you been taking in sitting around the diner lately, I believe you misunderstood your mother.

She actually said "GET OFF MY FEEDING TUBE!"

My dd dreamed that the annoying talking Justin Bieber toothbrushes from the store where she works had followed her home. I hope no truth exists there.

Too bad Gina's mother doesn't advise her to seek out professional help, which is what she really needs. That, and a good hairstylist.

@birdie,

I am still cracking up at your comment regarding Bobby's surname!

That was hilarious!

Thanks for the laugh! I missed it yesterday.

As for dreams - I wonder if Gina now talks in her sleep about her Mom talking about her talking in her sleep about Bobby.
<> I'm tired.

This story is turning into my never-ending nightmare - do any truths exist there as well?

I had a dream last night that a hamburger was eating me!

Does Mary sleep, even dream? With all the coffee she drinks, she may not have slept in years!

I think a special guest is needed to liven things up.

Special Guest: "And once you find Bobby, it is paramount that you contact him 1,625 times a day."

Gina and Mary Worth: LiZa The Nurse!?!!

Geeze Louise, this is the little story that didn't know what it wanted to be when it grew up! Now it's dream interpretation? FOCUS, Moy, FOCUS!!! Maybe tomorrow Gina will whip out her ouija board to help decide whether and/or how to find her Bobbylicious junior high crush.

I'm curious to see how Moy ties this long, looong story in with 9/11 on Sunday. (If "Mary Worth" is one of those strips marking the date).

I can't think of much that can be done in the one remaining strip - tomorrow's - that may tie it together. (Now, if "9/11" were really "12/11" real possibilities could present themselves...)

Mary is 100% right about her comment on dreams. It was her dream about Doc Jeff drowning that lead to her flying to Viet Nam (took about six days in flight) to find him and get him appropriate medical attention. Had she not had this dream, Doc Jeff wouldn't still be around.

Don't discount Mary's advice. She is right on this one.

I had a dream (the night before last) in which I was one of several party guests in Karen Moy's home. It was a lovely home so I kept thinking to myself, "what else does she do that she can afford such luxury, and how do I tell this woman of refined taste that her stories for Mary Worth are really missing the mark?" I tried to leave but couldn't find my car.

@Brick--I'm sure she laughs all the way to the bank....

WHAT??? Moy gets PAID for this?

"Karen Moy" is a pseudonym for a dyslectic chimp named Muggs.

A couple times I've dreamed I won the lottery! Sadly, there wasn't any truth there. I woke up and found out I still had to go to work. *sigh*

FYI, it's not your mother speaking to you in your dreams, Gina. It's your freakin' crazy self coming down off the coffee jitters.

Well, the idea that dreams contain truths is certainly a great topic for a very long diner chat. (Now I'm imagining how much more fun Mary would be if she took hallucinogens.) I have a couple of more down-to-earth concerns, though. First: how did Gina's dad, the mob-killing witness die? Second: could coming out of the Waitress Protection Program in any way endanger Gina? Maybe The Mob has been staking out Bobby and Gina's favorite tree for ten years, just waiting for her to show up!
