Mary Worth 1,139

After an entire week of plot twists and farcical antics at the Hilton Madhouse, I am greatly relieved to spend some time watching Mary Worth read from her "Big Book of Other People's Destinies."

I'm surprised that they're actually showing Mary consulting the Necronomicon.

Whose photo is that on the end table? The gender is not easily defined...is it the dead husband? the guy she goes to the Bum Boat with? the woman she called in NY on 9/11? ALDO!??!?!

I always do that: ponder something wholly unrelated to the actual book I'm reading.

Please tell me it's that and not Wander's insight that's going on.

I wondered about the same gender-less photo, Teacher Patti.

Is that a NY Blazes cardigan she has on?

Can we be sure that's a photo? It looks as if a head is actually emerging from the frame. And it's either an Amish farmer or Chaz Bono.
On another pointless note, why is Mary's lap so flat?

@TeacherPatti and phoebes: It's the picture that came inside the frame when Mary bought it.

I agree with Meg - a head is emerging from that object (there's even a shadow under the chin). Perhaps this is how Mary communicates with Sauron or Voldemort - "Whose life shall I insinuate myself into next, oh dark power?"

I sure hope we see Bellboy Freddie misdelivering Gina's message tomorrow!

Maybe it's the picture of Dorian Gray. Now we can watch the picture age while Mary reverts back to her youth.

Mary looks like an old man in that light.

flea- My God- you have just discovered the real reason Mary refuses to marry Dr. Jeff! From now on I shall refer to this character as MARV Worth.

My first take was that Mary has gone to a funeral parlor to read someone's Guest Register while sitting next to a portrait of the deceased. What better place to ponder "destiny"? I just don't understand why the lamp is sneaking up on her.

Why, Imogene, Lamp is in cahoots with Potted Plants, of course!

Their mission, which they have no choice but to accept, is to sneak up on unsuspecting Worthiverse citizens, and loom menacingly.
