Hey, this post is #1234! That calls for a celebration!
Giella's decision to have Mary's thought bubble appear under Nola's text bubble with Mary not in frame demonstrates why that is never done in the comics industry. Sometimes gutsy artistic moves do not pay off.
Does this mean that the rest of the week will show Mary blabbing to Toby that Nola is putting her off? Ho-hum [yawn]. If this lunch ever happens, maybe it will be at the Lemon Wedge, and the hippy thieving twosome will lift Nola's wallet. Mary will love that.
I find it interesting that Nola 'hazitall' Wolversen has to look at her watch in order to tell Mary that she can't see her for a week.
I still want to see the beautiful apartments! I mean, why make such a big deal about the plural unless it will be proven to us. We could understand, without evidence, a beautiful apartment... but apartments? SHOW US!
I think I have one of the most epic word verifications ever... efbombs affliction. Nola is going to have a serious case of efbombs affliction when Mary keeps pestering her to have lunch.
@Sandi Ego -- awesome wv indeed! Unfortunately, I'm having some trouble today proving I'm not a robot.
Mary has a lot of nerve to call up someone as Busy and Important as Nola Wolvensen to beg for that lunch invitation! Nerve, and mad skills to be able to push a thought bubble all the way through the phone like a fart.
tuffenuf: I thought the same thing when I read MW today. I'm guessing that Nola has one of those newfangled "smart" watches with a personal calendar "app". Let's just hope that Dawn Weston doesn't get her hands on that.
Nola gets what she wants. So does this also mean that Nola doesn't get what she doesn't want? Like not meeting Mary for lunch because she doesn't want to? What could possibly be the point of today's strip?

My time/space continuum reference is completely blown by that thought bubble from the unseen.
Gutsy! Yes.
Smart? Not so much.
Nola appears positively giddy at the idea of putting Mary off for a week. (Will it be early summer in real time before their lunch?)
What possible reason could Moy have for this delay? Possibly it will give Mary more time to snoop, uh, I mean, think about Nola.

Ah, altruistic Mary! Has to wait a whole week to get the scoop on Nola. Maybe, in the meantime, she could get a life. Of her own.
wv: icaAfHe her - like, no, you can't cafe her for a whole week!
Nola has a career as a Milton Berle impersonator, that's awesome! No wonder men find her irresistible.
How nice of Moy to warn us that we have to wait....and wait. After all, it's not something we're accustomed to.

efbombs affliction.

I love it that Nola "almost forgot" lunch with Mary. Probably slipped her mind while she was organizing her desk in an OCD frenzy.

Giella is a genius! It looks like he played a game of "pin Nola's head on her body" when he had imbibed a few too many.
I cannot imagine Mary Worth without his artisitc flair. It would be like Mick Jagger without Keith Richards.
How can Nola find the time to do actual work in an office when her more important job is driving Mary Worth to distraction?
Nola has the pose of 'Muttley' from the old LaughOlympics cartoons. I can hear the laugh already as she hangs up on Mary.

I think Nola rents an office right next door to whatever her name was, the finance advisor. Same desk, same plant.
And Nola, the hunch? Sit up straight will you? You have condos to sell!
these WV's drive me crazy. Enough to deflate a snarky comment...
Yeah Mary, about lunch...turns out I'm booked solid for the next year and a half, so sorry...
