Mary Worth 1,282

I shudder to think what these two need to be redeemed from. Painting clowns? Baking casseroles? It's never too late.

I hope those whales breaching over Mary's shoulder don't make much of a splash.

I hope, nay, pray, that Toby will give us a big juicy confession about why she needs to "turn around". And if it involves Nola's boyfriend, well, so much the better.
Ian: "Toby, lass, hae kin ye ha' done this to me?"

I'm glad I'm not the only one who sees whales every time those rocks are shown sticking up out of the ground.

Why is Mary pushing Toby? Is this dialogue really about Toby not giving up hope on her exercise program, that maybe someday she can do it without being pushed along by an old lady?

"He may get his job back." MAY? I guess he will have to get rid of that orange suit and the stubble, and the likker bottle, and the drunken ranting routine. And if he does all that, AND drops the 'wrongful termination' lawsuit, well, maybe, just maybe, Corporation will consider laying off Victor von Underling (who replaced Nola), and giving
Smithers his original position back. Then Victor von Underling can hang out in the park and consort with Hobo.

Nola's redemption gives me hope that two gossipy women with too much time on their hands find something meaningful to do with THEIR lives. More meaningful than painting clowns and meddling.

We have another "Summary Sunday" jewelry miracle today, as Toby's walking pearls appear out of nowhere.

What's with Mary's face/eyes today? Every view of her face is noteworthy. My favorite is her wall-eyed expression in the fourth panel. And Toby reminds me of someone in that last panel, but I can't figure out who...

OMG! How long will this storyline last!!!

Mary is not pushing Toby in the penultimate panel today. She is performing her specialitie- picking a nit.

Am I the only person who wonders how Nola's going to avoid going to prison for embezzlement-I mean, the money disappeared, right? She surely didn't put it in a non-interest bearing account and then hand it back? "All in good fun!" And is that guy she libeled going to sue her or just be so happy he doesn't have to live in the park anymore that he's just going back to his cubicle.? "Well, being divorced, unemployed, homeless and flirting with suicide was actually the most rewarding experience I've ever had! I've learned a lot in the last few months! Let's let bygones be bygones!"
