Dawn, don't worry about Dave wanting to be friends. He doesn't mean it. He's probably just upset that as soon as Steve Jobs dies, you switched to a PC.

What brought about Dave's change of heart? It was an evil curse from that creepy teddy bear. Ted plots to get rid of anyone vying for Dawn's affections.

And from the looks of the vapor coming from Wilbur's mug, he's next on Ted's hit list!

Peggy, I was just thinking the same thing! When Wilbur said "What prompted his change of heart?" all I could think of was, "What prompted your mug to start steaming?"

Yipes! That teddy bear gives me the cold grue. He gives off a sinister Chucky-doll vibe. Maybe I wasn't that far off about the zombies.

On an aessthetic note, Dawn's bedroom seems awfully crowded. Between the furniture and heavy pictures and unaccountable potted plant, there's barely room for Wilbur and his self-reheating coffee mug.

Dawn, could you get over your over-extended teen angst for long enough to take a look at your Dad? He seems to be having a stroke or something. I know he's a weird chubby guy with a bad combover who says stilted things like, "What prompted his change of heart?" But he's still your Dad, and you need to get him to the hospital pronto.

Besides, hospital scenes are always more interesting than hanging out in Dawn's pink girly room.

@birdie's idea that Dawn should get Wilbur to the hospital is brilliant. Dawn and Dr. Drew Corey can renew acquaintances. The reformed, post-Peace Village Drew can make amends for two-timing Dawn. Just as Dawn's romantic hopes are rekindled, Drew can introduce Dawn to the boyfriend he met through his Men's Fitness magazine. Then Dawn can REALLY lament what a loser in love she is!

That menacing plant must be on the lam from one of Santa Royale's fine dining establishments.

So, Dawn is typing away even as she tells her dad about her loser status. Must be hunting for her next online boyfriend.

Dawn is updating her FB status while she chats with HulkWilbur:

Loser Again and HulkWilbur Still Not Helping.

If Dave was wanting Dawn to meet his parents for weeks, why was she dragging her feet? Maybe her reluctance to meet them gave him second thoughts about their relationship.
Or maybe it's DAWN'S EYES! If you zoom in, you'll see the eye on the left is looking forward, and the other is looking down. Reminds me of the season finale of "Fringe" last Friday, when Jessica's brain was reactivated so she could be questioned:

What prompted his change of heart? My guess is he was weirded out by Dawn's freakish ability to levitate a laptop.

Dawn was about to be lured away to meet Dave's parents in Alaska, ultimately to be sold into the sex trade. Fortunately for Dawn, Dave got cold feet when he got wind of the feds on his trail.

um...maybe Dave no longer has parents...something about duct tape, some missing concrete blocks from the garage, a bridge...

I really hope this isn't just a rehash of Dawn falling off the internet addiction wagon. Maybe Wilbur will convince Dawn to get off the computer, and go speed dating with him at The Bum Boat... where she will meet a great guy, who is perfect, and it turns out that he is Dave! Yes, just like The Pina Colada Song, only with a ''modern'' twist!

Thank you everyone for the kind comments! My son needed help with iambic pentameter this week and his How to Write a Sonnet directions were left on my desk.

Dawn's email reminded me of what Drew told Liza in mid-May of last year, "We should just be FRIENDS!". I don't think Drew ever meant to be friends. Guys don't really friend-zone girls.

Email? Dave must be pretty old. All the hipsters these days just use twitter and texting.

That's a pretty non-family-friendly angle in the first panel. Fortunately the bedroom is so crowded that Mr. Giella wasn't able to show everything (ahem).

And why is the plant giving Wilbur a back rub? Maybe it will style his hair next. We can only hope.
