Today's Full Strip
One might think that living in your jammies, connected to your laptop, snuggling next to a teddy bear in your daddy's house... all while trying to be a Worldly Woman... is the definition of rock bottom. Or at least it's a short bus ride from there.
It's going to take the supreme meddling powers of Mary Worth to even get this girl to the bus stop.
She's what? 20? Girl, calm down! Use social media for God's sake! There are tons of guys out there...you'll get some weirdos online but many are nice guys. And I did I mention you're *20* at most?? Chill, girl, chill.Oh God...I just gave advice to a fictional character from Mary Worth.
My advice would be for Dawn to get the hell out of Santa Royale. Fast.
Honey Badger Don't Care
Even Mary is smart enough to stay out of this one.
OK, Dawn Wilbur is off base . You don't wait for the next bus, you DRIVE the bus. Get out of Santa Royale, transfer to a real university out of state, find a part-time job, and Take Charge Of Your Own Life!!!Oh, and get rid of that white teddy bear. It's evil.
And Rock Bottom is receiving romantic advice from Wilbur. Your Dad. On the bright side, Santa Royale does have fabulous public transportation. And Wilbur: you're not Worthy either.
Dr. Chester here: Dawn, you need help, real help. Maybe you need to wear a...ponytail!My WV: "was ntshotes" Dawn was not so hot when Daves blonde babe reappeared in his life.
fact: Loser giving advice to Loser = two losing Losers. Soooo depressing, but there you have it.
[Monday} Let's assume Dawn is watching GoT via DVR or On Demand--because if we're talking about the initial broadcast, it's a little late to be going to the beach--especially with your Dad.I think it's kind of sweet of Moy to insert something contemporary for us pop culture mavens on the blog. But can you imagine the panicked phone call from Giella? "Karen, what is 'Game of Thrones'? What? You must be joking. How am I supposed to draw something like THAT?"Maybe she should have used "Mad Men" instead. That way, Uncle Joe would simply have to draw people from 45 years ago. Like he does every day.
Monday's strip delights me to no end. Mary Worth meets Game of Thrones! Instead of "Life is brutal," I really wish Dawn had said, "Winter is coming." But I guess that wouldn't have much meaning in Santa Royale, where it's always warm and sunny. And where the furniture is orange.
More Cliche Stacking from the strip. And some Product Placement. Wow. What's next? A celebrity appearance? Who do you think would be a likely candidate for a Celeb Cameo in this storyline? Dr. Phil? Probably not, as he would be redundant. Maybe someone who could do the Physical, rather than Psychological Styling. Stacy and Clinton!
Yes, PLEASE go to the beach so we don't have to look at that ugly sofa again tomorrow.
Trying to enjoy my Memorial Day holiday. Please make the image of Wilbur on the beach go away.....However, Wilbur probably needs to talk Dawn into going SOMEwhere with him, so that they can run into Meddlin' Mary and she can extract her pound of flesh... er, add her two cents.
