Mary Worth 1,369

"Save us! Not the other 4,000 passengers!" Save the really strong swimmer and the two rugged males in the prime of their lives. And the fat middle aged guy, too, if there's still room.

Did the other 3,996 passengers get into lifeboats or drown?

Green T-shirt Keno twin to Wilbur: "Get your &%€¥ hand off me, Chubby! I'm sorry I made the gesture!"

Poor BurlyKeno1! Dawn, as he has now found out for himself, is brutal.

What's up with the wheels on the bottom of that helicopter?

(On an interesting sidenote, the Cleveland Plain Dealer did not publish the first two panels of the strip as shown online in the Washington Post link. It would seem that they are as sick of the plot and the inevitable Sunday rehash as we are.)

Do the idiots who run this drivel really think that sinking for two weeks and focusing on a babbling quartet of annoyance is the way to build tension?

My disgust factor on this strip is rising...

I had the weirdest thing happen. Normally I read Mary Worth on the Times-Union website and today's strip wasn't the one Wanders linked to, but Mary, Jeff and Adrian having dinner with Ted Confey! What the heck?

TG - same thing happened to me! I was so afraid for Wilbur - was beginning to think that Life Is Brutal. Thankfully Wanders saved the day.

The Seattle Post-Intelligencer online also had the Ted Confey strip.

I'm sure as Anonymous implies that the other 3,995 passengers got rescued or died. But I'm concerned about the little blond waif. Was she washed overboard when Wilbur almost fell off the boat?

Hope Dawn doesn't swat the Barbie copter out of the sky with her gigantic King Kong hand.

The Barbie helicopter is more realistic than the Giellacopter.

The other 3,996 passengers killed each other at the lifeboats. Well, if the blond waif ("Mama! Aiuto!") survived, make that 3,995.

I wonder if the burly twins are actually father and son. Fuchsia polo shirt looks more mature than green T shirt. If that's the case, it's a win-win for the Westons: Dawn finds true love, and Wilbur finds a friend.

I have a question for everyone. Many of us are (understandably) squirmy about how closely Karen Moy is tracing the real-life tragedy of the Costa Concordia, in which 32 people drowned. Moy seems to be "teaching Dawn a lesson" by placing her in true danger, to shake her out of her moping over "This Reminds Me Of" Dave. But what if Wilbur had decided to cheer Dawn up by taking her to a movie, say a midnight showing of "The Dark Knight Rises?" We all would agree that would be in poor taste. So, presumably, would Moy and Giella's editors. So why is the Costa Concordia tragedy any different?

Dawn: "I think the helicopter sees us!".

The people in the helicopter see you, Dawn. For the helicopter itself to see you, it would have to be a cartoon character....

Oh, right. Never mind.

Punky: As one of the posters responded to me once..."Moy has editors?" Interesting development though, with several newspapers replacing the strip; wonder if that means anything?

@Punky, I have wondered about that too! This storyline is incredibly insensitive.
