What a disappointment! I expected a real smackdown from Mary, and Elinor to fight back with her customary rancor. Looks like the way will soon be clear for Tom and Beth to disappear into the Worthiverse's black hole, marriage. Will they take Elinor with them?

Mary has changed back into her Mountview Mortuary Service blazer, which is right in keeping with my black mood. Elinor has wimped out on us! After a lifetime of rage against men and controlling the life of her nebish of a daughter, this is what we get?! No flashback to Beth's father's exit? No going mano a mano with Mary? Just "Oh Mary, blah blah blah"? Blah indeed! Karen Moy gave us pablum when we were hoping for bile. Boo hiss.

Drag, Elinor is just afraid of being alone.

I was really hoping to see a parallel with Dickens' Great Expectations with Elinor playing the part of Miss Havisham, Beth as Estella and Tom as Pip. Will Beth break tom heart and Elinor catch on fire?! We can only hope!

How long do you get to stay in Mountview Hospital when you're perfectly healthy?

This whole thing has gone really, really bizarro to me, even for the usual trappings of Santa Royale.

I was thinking yesterday that since Mary Worth's Sunday strip is just a rehash of what transpired during the previous week, maybe it should be like Mark Trail's strip on Sundays - informational and not having anything to do with the current storyline. Mary could divulge some of her favorite recipes, provide interesting facts about Santa Royale, or reveal more of the letters she answers in the "Ask Wendy" column. Just a thought...

I wonder where Mary gets those flowers that change kind and color.

"Or your daughter may suffer," Mary says with a smile.

Wanders, I think that's not an AC unit, but an anti-ergonomically placed hi-fi unit. (I searched for an antonym for 'ergonomic', but could find none. Let's just say no feng shui principles or ease of use were taken into account with its placement which place it firmly in the Giella Dimension).

I've never seen Elinor look better.

Whoa, Brick, for a minute there I thought you said you'd never seen Elinor look BITTER.

meh, don't worry about it Elinor! Although we've never actually SEEN it, by everyone's accounts, Tom is a "workaholic". That means after the nuptials he'll never be home anyway.

If we don't see "let me tell you a story" in Mary's word balloon tomorrow, I will be oh, so disappointed.

I believe the biblical phrase is "Love knows no limits".In any case, it's a typical Moy non sequitur.

I'd be afraid too, being trapped in a hospital room with Mary Worth. But it's too late; Beth has already been replaced with a robot. Elinor needs to "get the hell out of Stepford" ASAP.

Wow, Mary switched from wearing Black, to Purple to Black again in the middle of a conversation.
