Mary's place is nice, but Dear Old Shelly Cohen's place is spectacular. I mean, look how she's hung her pink drapes! They don't just hang straight down -- they're GATHERED! Once Mary has spent a couple of months here, she'll never want to go back.
Today's Full Strip
Slow dancing, swaying to the music,Slow dancing, just me and my girl.Slow dancing, swaying to the music,No one else in the whole wide world.[ After seeing panel two today, I have to wonder if Giella has ever actually seen two people hug and/or kiss. ]
Wow, a typical New York City apartment! This is so different from Santa Royale, where people have orange toss pillows. Those NYC people are so cutting edge."You'll be calling it home for the next month or so" - ? What kind of work is Dear Old Shelly planning to pawn off on Mary? "Mary, when you finish vacuuming, take out the trash. Make it snappy because we need to be at Promise Haven in a half hour. You can start there by changing all the linens." I can't wait to see the clients at Promise Haven.
The door is hanging at an odd angle. New York apartments must not have hinges.Moy and Giella are planning a new spinoff strip - the Girls in Apartment 7C. Two footloose and fancy-free spinsters take NYC by storm! Thorpnotized, you're on to something. MW and Shelly's hug is very awkward. Could they be holding back deeper emotions? (Nah, Moy would never go there!)
Recently at a kick-off meeting for a new work team, we were asked to name our guilty pleasure. Others mentioned fine wine, reality shows, or a good book.I talked about Mary Worth and Me. Needless to say, it was the most unique pleasure. Someone even asked how to find the site.Let's hope I recruited more Disciples of Wanders!
I wonder if the poor, downtrodden people at Promise Haven have more New Yorky problems than the Pax Wellness people and the Santa Royale people?Do you think Mary will institute Yoga Hike Sharing Circles there?Maybe she will add a cake carrying trust exercise.
With round picture frames, you never have to worry if they're hanging straight.
Disciples of Wanders! I like it!
Another engrossing tale from the pen of Karen "I'm only here for the paycheck" Moy.
We accept them! One of us! Er . . . I mean, nice job with the recruiting, Peggy.
As a young person I moved far, far away from home, putting an entire ocean between me and my family and friends. I frequently go back home ( I am actually sitting at Airport in Big City right now waiting for my connection) and look forward to catching up with everyone. However, it has never EVER taken me a month or more to do so. Then again, compared with Mary, I lead a boring life!
Betty Crocker? Is that you?Mary must be going to get updates on her Kelk Casserole and Pinkcake recipes.
"Disciples of Wanders"? Nah, that's just creepy. Not as creepy as six fingers, or packing someone in your luggage and leaving their hand sticking out, but still..
It struck me today that while there are many things that exist only in the Worthiverse - kelk, spontaneously readjusting kitchens, and sharing circles led by yoga instructors amont them - there are also things whose absence defines the world of Santa Royale (at home and, as here, on the road). One of them, it seems, is entrance halls - every apartment we see opens right up on the corridor. Myself, I like an apartment well set back, with a nice hall that has a coat closet. On the other hand, this layout must make Mary's work as an eavesdropper (how better to gather the intel that informs her meddling?) that much easier!
Dear Old Shelly Cohen's apartmant building isn't too nice, there are no lights in the hallway! Not good for a person of age to be living there. I hope Mary brought her mace.
No wonder Mary will be calling it home; the Charterstone ants have hitched a ride on her suitcase.
