Wilbur will find ways to sabbotage Tommy ever actually getting a job - that is the only reason Iris is bothering spending time with Wilbur. Once Tommy gets a job it's splitsville for Iris and Wilbur knows it. We may be in this storyline for a long while.

By saying "Thanks for forgiving me for the last time!" does Iris mean she'll never expect Wilbur to forgive her again? Not even by the 12th of Never?
Maybe Iris and Wilbur's special song will be that Nat King Cole classic, "Unforgivable."
