Mary Worth 1980

Isn't it wonderful how good things happen in ways no one could have foreseen? Wait. I mean, isn't it wonderful how boring things happen in ways that everyone guessed four months ago? Truly wonderful.

I saw your situation and wanted to help so I could get you out of my hair, my parking lot and my condo complex. Now you can disappear and I never have to be bothered with you again.

Like a communicant, it appears Hanna is kneeling in the first panel as Mary pours the coffee into the chalice, uh I mean cup.

Perfect for giving Mary the thanks and praise she deserves.

Coffee? That object Mary is holding in the first panel looks like an oil can. Maybe she's pouring Mary Worth sacred oil into Hanna's cup.

I figured this week would be devoted to Mary and Toby gossiping about Hanna and Sean. Are we facing an entire week of Hanna thanking Mary? Oy vey! By Easter we should have a new storyline in which Mary insinuates herself with the unfortunate person who moves into the former Dingdon digs at Charterstone.

I'm hearing Carly Simon's song "Anticipation" but with the title changed to "Manipulation." I myself am in a hurry this morning (snow to shovel) but filling in the rest of the alternative lyrics sounds like a job Meg's talents could easily handle.

Could Mary mind her own business just once? Just once?

It worked because now all of my problems will be solved simply by marrying a man, The Ultimate Solution.

Happily Ever After isn't just A Saying!

Continuing Wanders' observation that followers could have guessed the outcome of this plot months ago, I fear a next prediction--a week and a half of congratulatory panels starring Mary, Toby, maybe even Wilbur. Throw in some love (and saccharine) soaked grinning by Hanna and Sean, all culminating in a Valentine's Day wedding.

I am so looking forward to the wedding ceremony and the honeymoon in Branson while Mary observes them interacting every step of the way. There is so much more story to tell.

For the love of all things decent, Hanna, would you please go home and change your clothes? You've been wearing the same outfit for days - throwing the scarf on in the diner didn't fool us one bit.

@Louise F at 12:55: Yes, please! That sounds wonderful to me! (Especially Toby Cameron!) A pool party would be nice, too!

There's that old Cole Porter song again: (You'd Be So) Easy to Love

Will Jeff take a break from Peace Village fundraising to try to persuade Mary that they could be just as happy as Hanna and Sean. Isn't is time for another Proposal Smackdown, at the Valentine's Day wedding no less?

Or maybe it's time for Amy to rage against true love, so Mary can smack HER down instead.

Point is, we have potential for drama and action, but instead we're getting coffee. Meh.

What's Mary basing her statement that "Sean is a fine man" on? The one dinner in which she observed him "interacting" with Hanna? I'm with @mrvy at 12:25 p.m. - meh.
