Let's review: Adam was completely absent from Terry's life for the past eight (or nine? I've lost track) years. Then, without contacting her, he moved into her condo community with minimal possessions. One morning he lay in wait and accosted her as she left for work. He's evasive about what he'd been doing for all those years and appears to have no job, though he mentions having saved a "substantial amount." He constantly badgers Terry to commit to him. Gee, why wouldn't she make another leap with Adam?
Does Karen Moy keep Joe Giella locked in a room with no contact with the world? That's the only explanation for Terry's matchy-matchy yellow short set, circa 1957.
Wondering if his COBRA medical coverage is about to run out, and his only ticket to getting health insurance is marrying Terry...This could really explain Adam's romantic urgency.
Wanders.. I am concerned at the lack of comments the past two days! Is everyone poolside except Mary/Terry? What will Toby and the Professor gossip about while the girls are not there? How does Mary get to have such beautiful rose bushes? A particular kind of manure that Dr. Jeff developed? These and many other issues are keeping me up at night.
A rose without a thorn, how King Henry VIII. I'm still holding out hope that this story takes a very dark turn when Terry spurns Adam and he goes full metal stalker on her. This is the only way I can tolerate the current story line.
RallySox, I'm commenting on your comment about lack of comments. The current storyline is mind-numbingly tedious, even with the roller coaster and hot air balloon. Perhaps we've become victim to Moy's evil plot to dominate the world through boredom.
Even so, Giella's artwork has been spectacular. Balloon rides with no pilot, balls tossed at unnaturally stacked cones, ponytails from the 50s and ROSES with no thorns! Only Uncle Joe could bring it all to life.
THURSDAY @Peggy Olson, "mind-numbingly tedious" describes most of the story lines. Even the ones that start out with promise, like Wilbur and Dawn on the wrecked Unita del Mare, become cliche-ridden bores. I wondered if the lack of comments earlier this week was due to a technical glitch. (Does Karen Moy jamming this blog count as a technical glitch?)
As for today's strip, I'd like to hear more of Mary's philosophy/theology -- "I believe there are certain things in life we are meant to experience." Meant by whom? Reminds me of an old Greek-mythology-related film that begins with Zeus and Hera arguing about what to do with the mortals.
I know birdie mentioned Terry's "tummy brain", and as I recall, that organ warned Olive to stay away from Dr. Kapuht. So what are we to think from THIS plot? Only the young can pick up on a vibe spelling danger? Give a girl a balloon ride, win her a stuffed toy, and her intuition goes all haywire? Well, at least we know that if Adam tries to drown Terry in the Charterstone pool, we can count on Mary to dive in and save her.
Well, at least Mary is being a little bit laid-back in her meddling. She's allowing Terry to come to her own conclusions about the rather hunky yet stalkerish Adam.
Which Myers-Briggs personality type do you think Mary is? After being asked, "How will I know?" she answers, "You'll feel it. You'll know." So, I'm guessing she's more of a feeling person than a thinking person. She's probably also more of an extrovert than an introvert, since she's always up in everyone's business all the time. Also, she's very likely a judging person. Any other thoughts?
@KitKat, I'm here, but at a loss for good snark. I just wish Adam and Terry would get back in the pilotless balloon, and a cyclone sends them to Oz. Or Alaska. Or back to DC.
I'm back after a long absence, still wondering about Chester the Dog. I hope he's happy, wherever he is. Although if he's reading this stalkerline he may have died of boredom.
That rose Terry has been nuzzling this week has thorns after all. . . Portending a sharp and difficult plot turn? One can hope. That, or she is about to bop Mary with the rose in an effort to jog MW out of her usual cliche-filled advice.
I'd love to give JG and KM credit for some Foreshadowing today (Friday) with the thorny rose prominently placed and the dialog "It's been wonderful so far", but we all know better.
If only things would take a Dark Turn with Creepy Adam Miller, and we can see some of Reluctant Terry Bryson's kung fu moves as she fends him off.
I'd imagine you never forget those.
Wanders, is that sappy song with the lyrics "I beg your pardon/ I never promised you a rose garden" in the Jukebox?
Saturday Bored out of gourd. I'm reduced to wondering what Mary will do with a basketful of roses now that she pruned all the stems off. Float them in her bathtub?

If I have to see "everything inside" Terry saying Yes, I'm done with this strip!

Let's hope that Terry Bryson's spleen has the sense to be a holdout, and that she says No to creepy Adam Miller.
I think her tummy brain is going to be the last organ holding out..
Terry's pancreas had better hold out, or given Adam's cloying ways, she's looking at a lifetime of test strips and Metformin.
OK, my third attempt to post. "Since this is a family friendly blog, I will refrain from any further comment regarding today's dialog."

@Dawn Weston's Evil Twin at 3:31 p.m., Mary must be off the chart on the judging scale.
Hey Mr. White - I mean Mr. Wanders - we're all dying of boredom here! Can't you at least think up a contest or something? I mean, really, dude?
Gee, it's FRIDAY..
It seems that this miserable excuse for a plot has driven everyone away. Wanders? Fauxprof? Chin Napkin Groupie? Nance? All of you?
Let's imagine today's strip reversed:
Terry: "Mary...do you love Jeff?"
Mary: "Yes. I always have. But is MARRIAGE in the cards for us? I don't know."
Et cetera, et cetera, ad nauseam...

@KItKat. Here I am with absolutely nothing to say, kind of like KM.
@KitKat--I'm here, too. XXOO.

Wanders, I'd also like to offer "Every Rose Has Its Thorn" by Poison. Classic 80s glam metal band.
We're all obviously bored to tears... come on Wanders.... come back to liven things up a bit!
